iv been looking up dune boards and all iv found are the snowboard looking ones
but several years ago i saw some "dune boards" that looked like 8 wheeled heavy ass mountainboards but i havn't been able to find them ever since
im going to keep searching for them because i think that they would be fun as hell but i just wanted to know if anyone knows what im talking about
Never seen an 8-wheeler. But, Patrick McConnell of MBS mountainboards has a 4-wheeler that looks like a mountain board with huge tires that he uses on Colorado Dunes. He had it up to approx. 45 mph on the dunes. He e-mailed me a video, but I don't believe there is a way to post it here.
That...... is....... the most badass thing I have EVER seen.

None of you asshats are in the hammers shadow but, I will say the new year will bring some forum changes, one of which will be much stricter enforcement of the general anti-hater TOS rules.

Ground Industries seems to make a solid board. Never ridden one though. I get my street slicks from them. I have heard other dirtboarders say their Bionic Truck system isn't as responsive as the MBS Matrix channel truck system.
I started with a MBS Jeep Renegade -- an entry level to intermediate board with All Terrain Skateboard trucks. After about 6 months I outgrew the Renegade. It wasn't responsive enough. But I had switched to riding mountainboards rigged for street. I wanted to try channel trucks on street rigs.
I found some old-style, unused MBS channel trucks and decks and custom rigged several street MBs with street slicks. I am now a mountainboard street carver addict. I only ride mountainboards with channel trucks now.
I ride a dirtsurfer for offroad.
The right board for you will depend on your skill level, your weight, and the type of thing you want to do with it (big air, stunts, downhill, boarderX, or street carving). The folks at MBS will be happy to advise you if you if you know what it is you want to do with it.
