longboard = freeboard ?

Then it would just be a longboard with bindings. To make it a free board you would need the trucks with the caster wheels on it as well as a board thats flexible torsionally.

This is what a freebord can do. Kinda hard to do on a longboard, even if you have the bindings. If you just want skyhooks you can probably get them off the freebord site, or maybe find them cheaper elsewhere, but the two ride very differently. The freebord takes a lot of time to learn.

You are forgetting the key ingredient. It is what Steen Strand spent years developing and submitting as his masters thesis. It is those two wheels under the board, inside the trucks, a little taller and (most importantly) freely rotating a full 360 degrees with a straight directional bias. The image of you with foot bindings on a longboard wondering why you can't slide back and forth like a freebord did give me a laugh, though.

i dont like freeboards because you cant go straight or turn without sliding.

I took a shitty Krown pintail and cut the nose and tail, threw on some used freebord trucks and skyhooks, whalla, I have a freebord.

lol those are called casters, my office chair has them....

and you can do anything a freeboard can do on a longboard. watch mike mcgoldrick skate.

thats very true, its all about weight management and wheel choice. but more so weight management. some slide gloves could probably help you out with that. also just a good safety idea.
