Yeah, I was the one left standing. This was a typical Master division Boardercross race. Close tight action with the one left standing winning. I wasn't going to race that year. I had surgery to repair my broken tibia earlier that year. Borrowed the board, elbow pads, and gloves from a competitor that got 4th overall (missed a medal by one spot). This was my only Boardercross Gold Medal (2 previous golds were in Big Air). I had to battle thru the DQ rounds to work my way back into the finals. The finals was the first race i had ever held back as a strategy, and it paid off. On the same section as this photo, 2 guys took eachother out, I moved from 4th to 2nd, and on the last berm the leader fell, giving me an easy pass and the gold. Epic time.
