hey here's something new, I've actually ridden both! Watch me comment on ACTUAL experience!

I prefer the longboard as it's more practical - you don't need a hill necessarily to ride it and it's hella easier to push on flats.

The Freebord is very cool for what it is and it's kinda snowboardy if that's what you're looking for

Freebords are really fun, i used to freebord before i longboarded, but once you get good, there's not really any place to go... It's also not the best simulation for advanced snowboarding, as you cant really use your edges to carve, it's more of a slip n slide. That said, once you learn them, they're really fun to tool around on on some hills...

Freebords require a steep hill to get you going very fast. It's fun if you have the right terrain for it (mountains)...

Freebording = 10% riding, 90% walking back up the hill

Freebording = 10% riding, 90% walking back up the hill
Longboarding = 20% riding, 75% walking back up the hill

5% riding up the hill = priceless

I know someone who bought a freebord but he lives in Alameda (read no hills) so he can't ride without driving to another city/town. Lame.

So, longboards. Now go skate.
