so, I've been looking around, the "metroboard" seems to be the only one with non-lead batteries... there's talk of lithium ion models, but I have yet to see any actually for sale. anyone ride one of these? I'm sick of biking everywhere, I want to skate LD without juking my ankles.
Randal Trucks is working with a local manufacturer on a "high end" electric skateboard. I'm pretty sure people will be most impressed with the outcome. Definitely not one of those cheap ones you see being imported from China. We wanted to create a "new" class of electric boards.... Stay tuned.

I also offer excellent customer service and technical support, getting back to people typically within 2 hours or less.
Each Metroboard Electric Skateboard is handcrafted in Portland, Oregon and goes through many quality checks to ensure that each Metroboard performs great when you receive it, and lasts a long time!
Lithium options will probably be available in about 6 months. NiMH Batteries are a huge weight and performance improvement over Lead Acid Batteries. NiMH are 1/3 the weight of Lead Acid for the same amount of energy. This shaves around 20 lbs off the product weight, making it much more portable and easy to pick up compared to the competition. They also last twice as many recharge cycles (typically 300 cycles for NiMH vs 150 for SLA). There are Metroboard models that weigh just 18 lbs, which have a range of 6 miles, or the 22 lb model which has a whopping 12 mile range! Compare this to the 50+ lbs of the competition's boards, which would have a tough time getting 12 miles on a charge.
I also offer free demos to folks who live near other customers of mine, who are typically more than willing to lend out their boards. Contact me with your location, and I'll let you know if someone's nearby.
I also offer a 7 day money back guarantee to ensure your satisfaction, although I'm happy to say, no one has ever had a need to use it!
