Oh, I missed this one. Bumped by a spammer. Anyway, I guess..... looks like they are riding invisible skateboards, I think you can get clear (see-thru) decks if the opaque ones bother you. Seems like the point of having independent feet would be they would do something independent of one another.

Re: more awesome freeline videos...
I actually own a pair of freelines and it's some sick stuff. I actually came to this site to learn a bit more about safety and equipment before I go hill bombing on my skates (I'm getting a pair of slide gloves and you best believe I'm gonna use em). I was talking earlier on facebook with the guy from minnesota and he was giving me tips on 180s and 360s.
now THIS is a video of what you can do on some freelines on flat ground.

Re: more awesome freeline videos...

Nah. Ripstik has a single caster at each end on the bottom, like a shopping cart wheel. Freelines have two longboard wheels mounted on a fixed truck under each deck. The motion looks similar when you watch somebody do it, but it feels very different when you're riding the things. And of course, you can actually do downhill runs on Freelines, unlike the Ripstik.

Re: more awesome freeline videos...
the experience of freelining is unlike anything else out there. I can dart through a crowd far faster than anyone on a skateboard because no matter what the movement is, I can maintain momentum, I can spin on a dime and power up gnarly steep hills. I can ride a ripstik, a guy I live with has one, they're cheap toys. Freelines are a serious piece of equipment designed for serious use.
you couldn't get 4 feet on 'em so I'd just shush with the freeline bashing until you can show me something that can even remotely compare to these things.

Re: more awesome freeline videos...
They're not gonna replace your speedboard, so if shredding the gnar is all that matters and everything else is for pussies, then you don't want them. If you think anybody that can't ollie over a picnic table while doing a quadruple kickflip is a poser, you don't want them.
On the other hand, if you like learning something challenging, they're for you. If you like being able to do something that can't be done by anybody else you meet, they're for you. If you like turning heads, they're for you. If you just plain like having fun, they're for you.
Today I skated two hours at the skatepark and an hour of DH. I switched around between two longboards and the Freelines. I even borrowed some kid's BMX at the park while he tried out my longboard (he'd never ridden one). I had fun the entire time.
What I really don't get is why people on a longboarding site, who (as a general rule) pride themselves on riding something different than a standard popsicle deck, can get so down on people that want to ride something even more different. If it's lame when street skaters make fun of longboards, why isn't it lame when longboarders make fun of (___insert alternative ride here___)?
.

Re: more awesome freeline videos...
Does anybody here know anything about the Drift Skates knockoff brand of Freeline? On ebay, drift skates are only about $40 compared to the Freelines which are near $150. I want to get a pair of these, but I'm just wondering if the Drift Skates are really that much crappier, or if it is more of a brand name thing.
