The Sweve: When You Don't Really Know WTF You Want...
This made me throw-up in my mouth a little...
From Skate & Annoy:
"The advantages of longboarding and skateboarding combined into one.
Whether you want to go cruising down the street or tackle a new obstacle course, the Swerver is the only board you’ll need. The Swerver Ultimate Carving Streetboard combines the advantages of a longboard with those of a skateboard. The rider propels the Swerver Board forward using a twisting motion, eliminating the need to push off the ground every few feet."

I have a modified Rip-Stick that I mount R-II 150's to.
In concept the twist in the center is pretty cool, in practice it sucks.
Wheel bite is really easy to get and stability is only a distant rumor.
Completely impractical, but entertaining to shred around town sheerly for the "What the F*ck" effect.
Atleast, that's the way my bastard hybrid Rip-Stick/longboard works. But I imagine it wouldn't be much different on one of those.

I really don't see whats wrong with it. I know plenty of people who have and love their ripsticks. Whats so bad with kids riding them, if they want they can. How does that affect you?

I have no quams with Ripsticks, they're neat but mostly a novelty item.
But when you mount trucks on one, it sucks.
The Swerve is basicly the same in concept as my bastard ripboard.
So I imagine it'd be just as impractical and sucky.
