Looks like a heckuva commuter, especially if you don't want to arrive at work all sweaty.

Wish the controller didn't look like a gun, though. I wouldn't wanna end up on the news for getting shot by a confused cop.

Yeah the new battery technology driven by cell phones can offer a huge weight reduction.

Strong magnet material is still quite heavy, though, so the electric motor can't get too much lighter.

Any estimate on how much the one you rode weighed? How much of that weight do you think was from the battery?

I would say that would be a lot of fun if they could go through water without screwing them up, weigh about half as much, be a little more shock and impact resistant , and pick up past 20mph

it would be great to pick up to 35 on a flat

that would be good for a person who is shotting a video no need to push and have the camera shake.

but i wouldnt buy one its cheating and takes the work and skill out of longboarding.

The controler looks like a gun... that's the first thing I thought of when I first checked out the website... before I watched this video. If I rode this thing in town for any length of time, I'm sure the local police would have me cuffed, sitting on a curb.
Electric skateboards seem to have potential... hopefully ten years from now the technology will allow a lighter, faster version.

My cousins are neighbors with the Hamborgs(makers of the hamboard) and I got to ride the bamboos before they were out and I got to ride their electrics. I got a discount on mine too. PS in the board riders review video the little girl riding the red one is my cousin.
