    Default which freeride board?

Hello! i have just joined silverfish (but have read stuff on it a lot just forgot to join haha). and i thought i would start off with probably the most annoying question (i know) to everyone... basically, i want a freeride board (obviously). i curently have the sector 9 fractal.but i would like to start freeriding. im 5'11 1/2", 155 lbs. i have randal r2s with 42 degree plates. my select bushings (venom barrels, 87a board, 85a road). i was planning on getting 86a stimulus for wheels but i dont know what people recommend would those be fine? basically, what board should i get? top mount or not i dont care, if you dont know what would best fit me, just tell me what your favorite one is. i would prefer something symmetrical.
i was looking at the mini shaka as it seems cheap and good.
    thank you so much

mini shaka is a good choice. For free ride I would get a higher degree truck, so go with randal 50s. for wheels get cult classics or metro motions.

yeah. get 50 degree trucks. I love paris and calibers(my opinion). The shaka is a great choice but there is not much concave. if your looking for a cheaper board with a great concave, go with the nelson spindrift. although it is drop thru, you can choose if you want it top mount or not. As a beginner, i recommend drop thru for those nice long floaty 180s. for wheels, dont get orangatang when ur just starting. they are great wheels but you need to be going really fast to get the smoothness they offer. abec 11 flashbacks (81a) are great. cult classics r great for a beginner but be careful. they become hard to conterol when going fast. My all time favorite wheel is definitely the Megatsunami by rainskates. the way the thane rubs off feels amazing. and remember, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
    I love W concave.

thanx so much guys. when i first ordered my truck off motionboardshop they sent me one 50 degree plate... an accident haha but now i will get another and use those. i was looking on the nelson boards website and i really liked that board. slightly more expensive but it looks higher quality, i will look more into it first but i will probably go with it. i like doing tricks with the tails like shuvs, no comply's, etc. any idea if either board is good or bad for that? thanx again

I got a Landyachtz Switch about a month ago and I love every minute I go on it. I run Bear Grizzly 852s and Zombie Hawgs 84a and can throw slides with ease. The drop carve in it makes it feels like a really low, surfy ride.

if you want Nelson does custom additions. You could ask for extended nose and tail. Might cost a bit extra and take a bit longer for them to ship it, but in my opinion it would be totally worth it if you like those kind of "freestyle" tricks.

mini shaka has better tails but spindrift is a better board. if I were you, id ask nelson to extend the noses a little because getting the spindrift is totally worth more than they sell it for.

ordered another 50 degree plate. still deciding on board and wheels. thanx again for all your help!
im thinking about those megatsunami wheels cuz i like things that arent the obvious choices (orangatang abec11 etc)
and to hypocritically contradict that, i was also looking at the freeride 41 rocker. i really like its kicks, and something i have always found with original is i watch there videos and it hooks me on getting that board haha. its 130 deck only so i guess my question is. spend more than that for a custom spindrift? or just buy the original freeride 41 rc cuz it seems to fit my needs...

go for the comet grease hammer, and do not repeat DO NOT get stims. i had them as my first wheel and i liked them until i tried another wheel. i would say to get abec 11 flashbacks (these dont look like a freeride wheel) dont let that turn you off on them. they slide amazingly. i am running them on a grease hammer with paris 195's and 50 degree plates. or some abec 11 freerides if you want a "more freeride specific wheel (but not any difference exept round lips and the price)" and most important, dont spend too much time on the setup. its about having fun not looking at boards on a computer.

the megatsunamis are good wheels, but don't get the freeride. I've heard horror stories about the freeride's durability. Go with the spindrift, it's a great board for the price, and the drop through mounting will make it better for learning slides than on a topmount (sorry owl112).

Check out some Neversummer boards, I have a revolt and its a beast for freeriding, nice concave, and stable at speed. Also if you want a flexier freestyle board, look at the heist v2. Neversummer boards are really high quality and come with a three year warranty. I like the nelson, my friend has one, but its uncomfortable to push IMO, so i would suggest either of these, and one more thing, check out venom sidewinders and cult classics, much better than Otangs for a better price.
