Re: Post your Freeride/ Slopestyle setups
Currently the setup i am using is perfect. Absolutely perfect. With the Indies you can lean the deck enough so that your feet are even with the axles. You can slide forever.
I have ridden Nemesis' on paris trucks and 50 and 42 degree randals. I find the deck just too small for me , i'm 6'3". I don't like the way it slides either. Not as smooth in my opinion.
Bite can be an issue with the dropspped, but you should really only ride 70mm wheels. They work best and you don't have to worry about wheel bite.

i bet that deelite is absolutely sick for flicking out your slides nice and quick. i'm jealous.
and here's mine. i put it in the "dh setup" thread already, but it could be considered my "freeride"/"slopestyle"/whatever board.
smoothcut, chopped, topped, drop-through's filled. 38" long, 29" wheelbase, paris w/elims/barrels, smokers/durians/coned bigzigz. so fun, i love how topmounts slide, plus i feel fine on this thing up to about 35, so its fun for ripping corner sessions.

Re: Post your Freeride/ Slopestyle setups
ive got a comet drop thru with randals and slashers which i always presumed was my 'freeride' setup, but ive just been for a skate testing out the new carbon deck from dangerous, and its basically a freeride machine.
setup with 200mm 42* randals, sabre bushings, and some secret wheels. it was rad. slides were so smoth and easy to kick out. i think its a combination of the light weight, short wheelbase, and wide trucks.
just shows, the norm isnt always best (drop thru, slidy wheels, turny trucks) try out other things!

Re: Post your Freeride/ Slopestyle setups
Personally, as a dropspeed owner and having experience with the nemesis...they'd both do. However, for me...with size 10.5 feet, I find the nemesis too wide. It does have less concave, and I appreciate the drop speed's greater amount in that category. I feel that the drop speed is a bit more maneuverable in a slide, but that might only be because I've had that much more time with it. For you, I think the decision makers will be width and concave. Other than that...they're pretty comparable.
This is Silverfish, take it with a grain of salt. It's fun to come back to at the end of the day, but nothing beats the real deal. Make your own judgments and form your own opinions. Remember whose lens you're looking through!

Basically a hairpin but the standing platform doesn't taper in so quickly, also the standing platform extends closer to the trucks.. If anyone wants the template I can put it up as a pdf.
I just bought a bandsaw, and now its time to cut my new board, (well make the press first) , but Hey, you have a design for me exact board, minus a few little things.... Simetrical drop through with a 32 inch wheelbase, and a long standing platform.
I would love to see that PDF...

Re: Post your Freeride/ Slopestyle setups
I feel drop through is the way to go right? Drop through is very drifty, likes to slide not turn. Of course for wheels you want a harder rounded lip wheel, easy to brake loose easy to controle. Now for my set up I have 50* and 42* randals. I don't know which one is better. Any idea? And why more or less steer is better or worse

it's all personal preference... drop thrus turn well while being slightly more drifty than topmounts, which makes for an easier time while freeriding. that being said, the most fun i ever had freeriding was on a topmount with a 26" wheelbase on floppy loose 50* randal 180s.
i don't think i'd like freeriding on harder wheels, 83a is about as high as i'll go before things start getting uncomfortably slidey or rough.
and i use randal 50*... 42s just don't turn enough under 20 mph.
