i think ive decided on a rayne hellcat with randall or paris 180's and some abec 11 strikerz

i hate the way obomers slide. do they get better after they cone? so far they grip way more, have a sharper hookup and dont slide as smooth as my coned 78a gumballs.

I hated the slide too. The hook up was SUPER sharp. Now that they are on my mosquito they slide much better. They are also coned a little now. Just give it time. Also if you can try it on a different board.

i might stick them on my avenger for when i want some slide in a bomb. but other than that i might retire them from my "freeride" sessions. i will say this: they are WONDERFUL for predrifts.

Wow, really? That is the exact opposite of Obombers for me. Mine are like ice. They slide amazingly and hookup really nice too. Gumballs are so choppy and unpredictable.

I was thinking about getting a Kebbek Jimz Flushcut and running 42* Randall Baseplates with Paris Hangers and standard Paris Bushings. Not sure how that would work out. Any thoughts?

dont run 42* plates. if you are going to run randal type trucks then run 50* plates. alot better for sliding, carving and dh in general. its low enough already because its a drop deck. On my flushcut i am running Indy 215 hybrids topmounted with a yellow venom barrel on the bottom and a stock orange cone on the top. Very leany and it turns quite well considering how huge the wheelbase is. I love it for drifting, sliding and moderate dh.

Also, a flushcut might not be for you if you have a larger tuck. Measure your tuck and see if it will fit within the 25" standing platform.

What about Crail trucks? I wanted to use the flushcut as a downhill/freeride board and I feel like 50* Randalls wouldn't be that stable compared to 45* Crails.

I have not tried crails but because of the double drop, 50* randals are plenty stable for downhill and are still turny enough for 'freeride'. I used to run my flushcut with 35* trucks when i first got it but i found that i liked it alot more when i put 50*'s on it. it is already quite leany with the 50 randals.

Weeeeelll... Right now I'm using a Nemesis with Crails, and some old-formula tan nineballs. Soon though, it'll be a Blackbird with 50* randals, Venom freerides. Can't wait!
