Is the Landy drop wedge a good beginner freeride/soft wheel slide board?

It would work, but a symmetrical board would be ideal for a freeride setup.
    Boards breh:
Comet Voodoo XL (OG shape) - 50* Calibers
Carbon Surf Finish Clutch Jailbait - Crails or Paris
Incline Fro Pick - Ace 66
    Comet Shred 35 - Indy 169s

    Not set up:
    Galac GTCPLDP
    Loaded Dervish

$70 + shipping for each?? PM me!

I just swapped my indys back on to ma Hellcat (crails back to the Avenger). Threw some new vicious grip, 81mm 82a s9rfs and fresh bearings on there. Sits super low.. even with the big ole wheels. Can't wait to try this out tomorrow. Should drift a little bit...........

the 78a is pretty slow on flats and in garages, but going downhill they hold speed well and drift beautifully.

no way will that bite. indys set the wheels out further than reverse kingpin trucks increasing the actual wheelbase (wheel to wheel) by an inch or so. if you don't bite with randals/paris/etc you won't bite with indys, unless you really really try to.

Thanks! But yeah, the Indys change the wheelbase, adding about an inch to the front and rear, which in turn moves the wheels away from the shoulders of the board. So, yeah, no wheel bite at all.

However, I did originally set it up with 50* Randals, and got bite even with 70mm wheels (75mm were instant bite). I was able to tighten the trucks and run 70mm's, but it was too restrictive so I moved to hybrids. Now the 75mm clear with no problem in full lean.

Same deal with my v1 FSM, fits 76mm S9 RFs no problem with 215 Indy Hybrids.

I converted my Madrid DH Drop 41 from Randal 180's 42's and big zigs to having indy 215's with reflex/venom and 83 flywheels... super drifty and snappy turny now. As low as you'll ever see a board w/ 83mm wheels.

then I put the RII's with 50 degree plates on my 'glider with powerballs... way more fun that I thought it would be... I don't know why everyone says Indys are the only way to go on this deck other than how low they are.

I have a bunch of skateboards

Isn't this what you're supposed to put in a signature?

I used Randals for over a year 1/2 on my Charger and loved it. I switched to Indys when it became more of my transportation set up. I just wanted it lower for pushing.

    such a hot setup man

haha thanks for explaining, i feel stupid now, posted before i thought about it
damn, my 42* prandal and 70 or 75mm wheel setup doesn't look like such a good idea anymore.

Do you think 10mm surfrodz (making the axle 200mm) extentions could help prevent wheel bite with the 50* randals and 70mm wheels?...
