Default Post your Freeride/ Slopestyle setups

So I've been thinking about geting into slopestye riding and looking around for an appropriate board. I was thinking maybe a Dopamine slopestyle, fullbag speed carver or a Rayne hustler. So preferably i would want a dropthrough deck because i feel more at home doing standup's on them.

For wheels and trucks i was thinking 42/42 randels or holeys and 70mm purple o'tangs (83a) or lemon big zigs

Seeing some of your setups and feedback on boards and wheels would really help me.

Don't look any further. The Dopamine Slopestyle is the most badass board ever. The W Concave feels AWESOME under your feet and completely locks you in. A bit of flex makes it a fun ride but it's pretty solid, and though I have yet to take it to speed, I am sure an experienced rider would have no problems. David and Mike are awesome guys and they produce boards quickly, and the boards are beautifully finished!

rayne hellcat
randal 180 52s
blue kryptos

dang good freedride setup. i use it for everything though, its very versatile. where i live now all the hills are really steep, i have to carve and slide nonstop, otherwise i get to fast to slide to stop in case a car comes. this setup is perfect. if i had a topmount with grippy wheels, i couldnt go riding here at all. super smooth pavement, 14% grade and a blind intersection is what its all about here.

I took a bad fall on 5/24/2008 at Mt. Baker, went off the road and fell down the side of the mountain. I went into a coma, badly broke my pelvis, lacerated my liver and almost died on the mountain AND later in the hospital. The rehabilitation therapists had to teach me how to do everything again...everything.

I survived that mountain because of my helmet...WEAR ONE and send your family to the hospital, not the morgue.

Sorry to be a downer, but what is with all this "slopestyle, freeride" ####? Isn't is just carving down a hill?

Is there a point in making more divisions and labeling everything?

This site is being overrun with kooks.

DH is racing, right? and slopestyle/freeride is not racing...it's more doing a lot of turny, slidey, carvey things on a DH board. in the car world, if DH was nascar, "freeriding" would be drifting
yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

I think you are missing the point. DH is riding down a hill. Didn't you just call "freerding" what is really is, carving? What does it matter the kind of board used? In the car world drifting = carving.
