Since Kate seems to have decided on a board, Im gonna go ahead and threadjack: Has anyone ridden both a penny and a tutone pigpen (or dinghy, or any board of that size/style)? Does the pigpen feel at all more stable? I want a small, really easy to carry board to ride to class/the store/whatever. I tried my friend's stereo and it was just too sketchy being that small and riding it was more scary than fun haha. Does the extra 3" and wood deck make a difference?? Im assuming it does but I don't wanna drop $120 based on an assumption...

Sector 9 = Top Shelf Sh*t... especially the Downhill Division and their minis. Raglan = Good Choice.

Landyachtz Dinghy = worth the price. When it says in the Landy website that the dinghy is a favorite among shop employees and team riders alike, I can confirm that. It's a great mini.

You must be joking right? Sector 9 downhill division decks are pretty freaking sweet.

Squint, "top shelf" means something is good. He was saying their DD boards are really good.

Ha, dont sweat it bro. You are only 18, so i will cut you some slack. The top shelf is where they keep the good liqour, aka S9 = good.

Please don't but a Penny plz. I best bud bought one a couple months ago. He didn't like so he let me use it. I didn't like it at all. It wasn't good for commuting or carving. I'm only 5 ft tall and I thought it was waay to tinny. Get a longboard with flex. It makes the ride WAAY more fun. Look at the Never Summer Hiest, Never Summer Descent, Loaded Vanguard, Loaded Dervish Sama. I love the Sector 9 Fractal as a beginners board for carving. It's really fun. But don't get a Penny it's terrible compared to an actual 'Longboard'
(Will) So what board did you pick?
(You) Umm, I think the Tan Tiens cool, but i dont like how it has lack of concave, and i like how the Landyachtz Switchblade looks but its too heavy, and i like how the Freeride 38 looks cool and has perfect kicks, but its not durable... (15 minutes later...)
(Will) Soo, basically you are completely lost and have NOOO idea?
    (You) Yuuuup.
(You) If only i could buy them all...

Awesomelongboarder (there's an ironic name for you), she made it pretty clear she wants a commuter, which translates to short wheelbase.

Would you agree that while you dont exactly like sector 9, the mini board is better than a nickel?
Yes good choice to trust a boarding forum over your friends lol. But one last thing you should to look into is your bushings. Very cheap, and they completely change the feel of your board. It's creates a huge difference, I would strongly suggest look into it.

Here's a good place to start
    Bushing Selector - MotionBoardshop.com

For cruising it suggests a double cone (cone shaped bushing) for carving. I would go with the trusty, barrel shaped bushing boardside (closest to your board) and a cone shaped bushing road side (closest to the road). Tons and tons of bushing threads here for cruisers on silverfish
