Longboard Skateboard Reviews and ComparisonsWant to review a longboard, decide what you think about deck or get someones opinion on a board you are looking to buy.
Hey there, I have a few boards hovering around 40 inches and I'm planning on getting a Dervish for xmas, but I'm interested in a lil-shredder (read "between 29" and 34") with a kicktail and a lil' nose for commuting, mannys/ollies/tricks, and sliding around. It will likely be my commuter, but i want to use it for a more back-foot oriented shortboard surf style. I'll be throwing my seismic trucks on it with 77 mm gumballs most likely (unless convinced otherwise). my current list is as follows:
Bustin Sojourn v2
XVD Croc (also, is the bamboo worth the money? i think not...)
Loaded Ceviche (prob too expensive unless u have a used one u wanna sell me!?)
Madrid Mad Dog (not heard much from this company but willing to give it a shot)
Bustin Spliff (kinda want a bigger tail)
anything else you think is better!
stats: 5'11", 165 LBS, 20 yrs old, pretty experienced, not pro
is it worth it to get the bamboo? how will it ride differently? i want a board stiff enough to throw down some gnar gnar but not too heavy to carry to my human sexuality class (which has a really hot asian girl who longboards in it)

Well baltic birch is not that heavy at all, and it saves a good amount of money. But bamboo is asian. It's your choice man, but i suggest that board
I love my croc, i got the first verion about a year ago. it is definitely my favorite board to ride, they even put pics of my graphic up on there site, which is way cool! but it has no pop, i can get maybe 6 inch ollies out of it, great to ride manuals around tho.
Sounds to me like the sojourn v2 is the one for you. Has multiple bolting options for the trucks so you can rock a nose and a tail, it ollies great, it carves awesome, really nice snowboard/ surf style, especially when you have the trucks set far apart. Those wheels are gigantic that you want to use tho... Get some fat free otangs or at least something 70mm or below... and in my opinion seismic trucks straight blow. Throw them away. After that buy some randals or some alpines at least, I personally use crails with the bottom washer out on mine with fat frees and sometimes lemon zigs 68mm... It's dope and you can customize the graphics plus the bustin dudes are super cool and you get s free shirt!!!! Okay I might be a bit bustin bias...
