Read my previous post, I owned one and sold it before I went through a single set of wheels...I think I hit on most of the issues I had with the board. But I also ranted a bit about a better version..Try this.
1. The kick-tail is too small.
2. It factory finish was lacking(need sanding in the cutouts)
3. It is a bit small(short and narrow in the tail) for control at a decent speed
4. The rear wedging is retarded.
And I can also say I wasn't impressed with their customer service. I asked for a set of wheel washers(some call them speed rings) with my order, guy at Bustin said "no problem we won't even charge you". Then sent me an extra truck mounting hardware kit. Honestly bang for buck, there are better boards out there.
Being good at what you do is wonderful, an open mind is everything...

I'm not saying you specifically, I didn't want to give that impression. At the risk of sounding rude there are SOO many more people on the internet. You HAVE given reasons. I'm not worried about finish, I can deal with that on my own, but the kick stuff is very preferential and details like that can make or break a board for people, I don't think it makes it good or bad, it's just not someone's taste...or it is.
The washer thing could be a communication error, I've heard good things about their service including letting people borrow boards for free until a repair or a board build was finished. They seem to care, that doesn't mean errors don't happen. I don' think I've ever bought a PERFECT product. That's me though.

Re: Bustinboard?
I just skated with the Bustin Crew today and it was sick!
We visited their newly opened store on Grand Street in Williamsburg and these guys are really awesome. I had a nasty spill on the Williamsburg bridge on my way over there and they patched me up.
Bought 150 Randals, Abec 11 No Skoolz, and some bearings.
Sick shop, sick company, sick baords, sick rides.
Bustinboards rock.

Re: Bustinboard?
this thread is so full of fail. (exclusively by backwoodsbomber)
lets clear things up:
- bustins are about a 6 out of 10. not the worst. certainly not the best.
- i've a hill near me on my strike with paris's and powerballs and got a high of 40mph. anything over that is ridiculous and out of the question. don't make #### up.
- the kick tail IS pretty useless on the strike. (i own one)
- The wedging DOES ruin most of the ride of the strike.
- its silly cause most of the posters backing up bustin have an average of 15 posts....way to go.
- never ridden crails. never want to.....why would you put jimz on crails for carving....your so retarded at that point backwoodsbomber i mean come on.
if you want to GET INTO longboarding (mostly carving, cruising, commuting) grab a bustin if you want one.
Turn on. Tune in. Drop out.

Don't accidentally say "jimZ" instead of "venom" or you will get ripped a new a$$hole by the SF fan boys...read this thread and learn.

Re: Bustinboard?
Are you serious? This thread was from back in November 2009.
And to add to the thread -
I've bought two boards, after 2 weeks of light use, the Strike and the Complex both started displaying pressure cracks that were running down the mounting holes into the meat of the board. I sold them to my friends to get them started on longboarding and settled for a Comet FSM - A REAL comfortable city pusher AND freerider that's low as balls with my Gullwing setup.
But there boards ARE good for commuting, freestyling and cruising. Anything else such as downhill, sliding, freeriding, or anything more daring for that matter - as they say in Brooklyn fuhgeddaboutid.
