Default Compare concave on Switch/Dually/Spud to Demonseed, Evo, or Chinook

I'm looking into buying an LY Switch in the next few months

From reading around, it sounds like the Switch/Dually are basically larger versions of the Spud with the exact same concave (which is why I included all 3 in the title)

Can someone compare their concave to any (or all) of the following three boards?

-Demonseed: Owned one for 1.5 years now and have spent countless hours upon hours on... sliding, DH, commuting, etc. Very familiar with this board

-Evo: A good buddy of mine has had one for years, and I've spent a good little bit of time on it. Familiar with the concave, but the tapering at the tail may be weird to compare to a symmetrical board

-Chinook: Managed to find one at a local shop (which is say a LOT in Wyoming), so I had a chance to stand on it a little bit, but not really ride it around. (i.e, basically no experience w/ it)

Any first-hand experiences and opinions are appreciated. Even if don't own any of the boards I'm personally familiar with, what do you think of the concave of the Switch/Dually/Spud?

    hurrah for switches

    how tall are you?

well the concave is pretty gnarly imo. it's really great and locks your feet in nicely. the w-cave is subtle (i had to get the right lighting for the concave to show), so it doesn't hinder you when pushing...but when cornering or drifting toeside, the little pocket locks your foot in nicely...gives your toe/foot something to push off of...

landy evo is comfy to me. flat in the middle and steeps up on the sides. and then that rear part is awesome for foot placement.

just ask mischo and dalua. im sure they love it too

thought about a dually, but I've already got a Demonseed which is essentially the same length. and hell, I usually ride a frickin' 32.5" board for tech sliding

    Sweet!
I tried the Spud and Switch, they both have the same concave (It felt like that anyway).
The Switch has very little standing space, imo, and I'm 4 11''... but then again I have a pretty big stance that takes up almost my entire standing space on the board I own. It's the the Sayshun Speed btw.
So in short, I'd get the Dually.

blah the dually looks FURKING huge I doubt that anyone with the excception of Yao Ming will need a board that big. the switch is plenty big, still way too long of a platform for me...but for your height it should be nice and comfy.

definitely pick up some 1/2" risers when you get the switch

edit: someone100 *little* standing space?!?!?! are you out of your mind?!?!? little standing space AND you're 4'11"?!?!?!?!?

    whatttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt????

I'm not sure how far you are from Boulder. But if you went into All Board Sports in Boulder, you could stand on all of the boards yourself, and make your best judgement. I went in there a month ago, picked a board, dialed in a set of trucks with multiple bushing combinations, and kept riding it around the parking lot till I left the store with the setup I wanted. Really stoked with Bola and All Boards Sports. I never really appreciated how nice it is to have a skate shop where you can test your gear before you buy it.
If your not skating for fun, what are you skating for?

    Bola's got a sick collection.
I spent an hour checking out wheels.

thanks for the suggestion, Brian! Yeah I'm only like 2 hours from Boulder, I'll definitely have to go check that place out. we don't have jack for boarding shops in wyo, so I wouldn't mind the drive. I've NEVER really been able to test out my gear beforehand. just have to do a lot of research and bite the bullet (i.e., the purpose of this thread)

what would you say (Switch vs Spud) for someone about 140 lbs, 5'9, and short legs (longer torso)?

ive been wanting one of these boards for a while, but cant get on one to try.

i'm also 5'9 with a long torso and shorter legs and the switch is really comfortable, sometimes i wish the platform was about an inch longer but i have a rather wide stance for my physique. i've never ridden the spud.

I'd go with the switch if I were you probably...

the spud even for me at 5'6" cramps me a lot...

im the same and ive ridden my friends 07 spud a few times and i can get in a good tuck on it but i have a really small stance (long ass legs and a size 13 foot) but i prefer smaller boards but for sure you would like the 09 spud its longer and has a smaller drop i think
