Longboard Skateboard Reviews and ComparisonsWant to review a longboard, decide what you think about deck or get someones opinion on a board you are looking to buy.
Can you all give your apinion (pro's and con's) on these two boards, Im leaning more to the bullet because its easier for me to get living in Australia, from what Ive read they are both a allround board but the the bullet will handle the downhill better than the apex and both are good for free ride what you all think.
If you plan on bombing hills more then cruising and carving get the s9 Bullet. Vice versa get the Apex 37. Apex 37 you can have fun anywhere you go except bigger hills. If you want to go faster then 30mph get the bullet. If you plan on getting the Apex 37 make sure you get the right flex rating and a pair of red or white springs. Let us know what you get.
If downhill is your thing, you prolly wanna go with the s9. It all depemds on your priorities, but Apex37 is a really fun board though, and i dont se how people can even consider picking a s9 over a qualityproduct like the ones that Original provides.. What are you riding atm?

It's easy to pick a board over an Original if you are looking to go fast. I personally would rather have an Original and carve than go fast in a straight line on a S9, but not everyone thinks that way. But if I was choosing between an Apex and a Bullet, I would get the Apex and ride the way it was intended and then save up for a really good speed board like an Avenger or and Evo depending on the type of deck you like.

Now look at yours. That's called the internet. I win at it.
Yeah, it all depends on what you're doing. Personally if given the choice I'd go with the original, better product and I'm not riding hills. But like you mentioned if you're hillriding then go with the s9. It comes down to what you are doing, even if you are interested in hillriding surely there's a better board out there than the s9? If you want a quality carver go apex, if you want a more suitable but necessarily better board for hills go s9. To me this wouldnt even be an arguement but....
If your choosing a S9 bullet, I may want to recommend you looking at other boards. You a board thats a lot better then the S9 bullet for around that price.

Hey mate, If you live in Australia I strongly recommend you ask around ASRA ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association. As it is really a tight and great community, also, all the Australian stores are members, Hop, BoardShop, Ado, etc. So they will probably be able to offer you prices as well.
Also to add. You can ride any sized hill on an Apex. It's just not a board for bombing in a straight line. If you can carve then it doesn't matter how big the hill is. There is a misconception that boards like the Apex or a Dervish aren't for hills. That is completely wrong. They are amazing on hills, but they are for carving, not bombing. I would get the Apex and hit all the biggest hills you can find and shred the hell out of them. Then save your money for a speed board.

Totally agree with what killdozer said. You can rip any size hill if you can learn how to carve it up and check slide. Funny that you mentioned that killdozer cuz I just had a session a few hours ago ripping up a hill with the apex 37. So fun feels like your ripping on a snowboard.
Also, say you do get a Apex 37 first, your board control for a regular truck for DH or whatever will be awesome after training on the Original trucks. Once you jump over to reverse kingpin trucks....oooowhee its fun.

Exactly man, I ride a super soft loose setup and it turns on a dime and feels like I am on snow or ice almost. I can whip the tail around so fast that I almost don't even have to check slide to get the back to break loose. It doesn't matter how steep the hill is, if you can carve hard enough to keep the speed under control. Then when going to a DH deck with lower degree trucks and a more stable setup, it will be much easier to control. That and a DH board is no fun to just cruise around on. I did it for months and it was just OK. An Apex on OEM trucks would be soooo fun on hills and cruising around. Once you get used to the crazy looseness and start going with the flow you'll love it. I don't have an Apex (I ride a Dervish) but my Paris trucks are setup, what I would call "Stupid loose and soft". It feels almost like Originals. It's the best ride I have been on. I can have more fun carving in half a block's distance than a stiffer setup can have over a mile of pavement. Last night my father in law was checking out my boards and he liked standing on my Switch with Bear 852s. He used to skate back in the day so he was into the longboard thing. I pulled out the Dervish with my loose/soft killer carving setup. He put one foot on it and said "oh hell no" and didn't even attempt to get on it lol. I laughed so hard. I love that. He couldn't believe I rode the hills on that lol. FLEX400 I would go with the Apex. I am thinking about an Apex as well at some point.
