Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
which would you recommend [plus setup] for freeriding as a "to go board"? i've been rocking an 08 avenger for my sliding but am planning to make it my DH specific board. pros and cons of the boards are also welcomed.

My setup is a 44" Skull Skates Comet, Invader 183s ridden VERY loose, Powell G-Bones 97A. Any ideas on what I could do?

Re: Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
For boards that are so similar, the only way to know which one you will like the best is to try out both.
....or just go buy a Nemesis instead.

Re: Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
isis and switch are quite different
switch is wider and longer
isis is probably lighter and less dropdeck
i have never riden a drop deck board but some people tell me that if u make the isis drop through it would be the perfect board aswell as a little bit wider...
take a look at the kebbek jim z i think its called thats a nice board

Re: Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
I enjoy my landyachtz switch very much. It feels great when sliding and is built like a friggin tank. My friends Nemisis is also a very good board but did suffer in the durability department and the drop is barely noticeable in comparison.

Re: Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
buy a carbon decline and let me know if it rocks, I'm so interested in this board. Back on topic, The switch has a huge drop compared to most other boards, this definitely becomes a love/hate thing. In order to make mine maximumly enjoyable i added some 1/2 inch wedged risers and it became much more responsive. IF your looking at the isis due to the smaller platform maybe check out the spud. Also browse around under the manufactur section of the fish and checkout clutch's decks the lambchop and the double tap, both slightly shallower decks for a similar price to the switch. But seriously check out the carbon decline it's only 100 bucks, and has a shorter wheelbase and smaller drop than the switch.

Re: Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
On my landy switch i have 852 bears, paris red bushing boardside, stock roadside, and yeller durians. its a fun set up!
A little too heavy for my taste, I just use it to slide and go on faster runs. Recently regripped it with clear gravity because the stock grip isnt very grippy

Re: Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
ISIS: I haven't ridden it but I know the isis is meant for smaller people maybe 150 pounds or less, thats because the isis has a smaller width and the board itself is shorter, it's used for freeride but Brianne Davis made it to fit her specific downhill needs. This board would be good with maybe some randals and I wanna say stimulus but its your choice.
SWITCH: The switch is another board I haven't rode, but I have rode the spud and they are very alike, the switch being bigger, wider, and heavier. The switch is for bigger people over, lets say 150 pounds. The board is a great freeride board and works well with bears and possibly zombie hawgs.
Both boards are great choices.

Oh, my bad I was just thinking, i fit a spud and I'm 120 and 5'9" so then the Switch should be for bigger people, but i guess not...

Re: Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
switch + bennett 6.0's + softer freeride wheels (75mm minimum) is so great.
that said i always wanted an isis, but the switch i found used and for much cheaper, stronger for abuse, and couldnt have been happier with my decision. there are almost always inexpensive switch's in the classifieds.

Re: Rayne isis vs. Landy switch
If you dont go faster than 20, dont get the switch. Its so sluggish at low speed.
But once you start going, it just springs to life! I love mine for free ride or down hill- (top speed about 55, lol! )
i have bears, 1/4 riser, and zombies.
I say go for it!

amen!!
after about 20 its loads and loads of fun, but I need an all arounder, so i am now looking at the chop to have a deck fun at low, and higher speed
