    Default which comet

So I recently bought a loaded dervish flex1 with paris 180mm and purp stimulus'. I like the board and had a landyatchz pintail prior and I liked how the pintail locked my feet in. I was on comets website and they have a lot of decks for great prices but I'm caught between three. Now that I have an all around board with the dervish I want something that's built for speed, not that I DH a lot but I'd like to start. So I'm caught between the laki flush, the pagan flush and the voodoo xl. I want this board to be more dh but be able to freeride too. If anyone can help thatd be great.

    Thanks
    -Jimbo

Big fan of all Comets shapes. But I'm partial to the Loki. It can handle speed very well, and at the same time has a shorter wheelbase (than Pagan or Voodoo XL) which makes it nice for freeriding too.

Totally agree. The pagan is huge. I've got a voodoo XL now which i love but i think i may redrill up the back wheelbase about 2 inches and chop the tail. It's just a monster. But they have great shapes and great feel, and are high quality decks.

Pagan is no bigger than a Hellcat or a Drop speed etc. really. It's just the trend right now is moving toward smaller decks and wheelbases, so it seems huge. Lol...still a killer shape. Might replace my cat with one when the cat is deaded.

Voodoo XL with a shorter wheelbase sounds like sex.

    very true.

also take into account the type of pavement you'll be riding mostly. a short wb is more affected by cracks and chunky pavement and gets slowed down a bit. a 32" wb is just fine for freeriding anyway. guys love the nemesis for freeride and it has a 32" wb i believe. guys also freeride on demonseeds which is at 34" i think. its just about feeling comfortable with your board.

I would also consider your stance. I am 5' 10" but have a wide stance, so I find the Pagan very comfortable. I do not have a Loki but do have a FSM, and even though its a version 1 I still sometimes get shoe bite because my back foot creeps over the wells. The concave on these decks is very comfortable, I have my Pagan setup with Crails right now, but with deeper turning trucks it slides and carves beautifully.

I second the Loki, the shorter wheelbase allows it to slide like nicely at high speeds and the rocker feels really nice

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm leaning more towards the Loki, either the flush or the drop through. The dervish is a drop through and I don't know if I'd want the loki to be too so I'm thinking about getting the flush. I'm 5'10'', 180 ponds and have an aggressive style with my feet usually wide but not on top of the trucks. I'm getting excited because I hear the rocker and the concave one these decks are awesome and I'm looking for something to just tear through corners.

I'm the about the same size as you (5'11" 185), and I don't feel cramped at all on my Loki. It's the first DH deck I've had less then 40" long.

That sounds good to me. Is yours a flush or drop through?

For sure. I've been using my pre-w Hellcat a lot lately, 32" wb with Paris trucks loose as hell. Sick setup for "freeride" fun

Drop through. But I originally ordered a flush. Small mistake I didn't feel like dealing with an exchange so I kept it. No regrets, it's rad.

Hahaha that's funny. It looks like I'll be getting a drop through based on what you guys are saying. Thanks again. I'll post how I feel about the board when I get mine.

EDIT: What truck set up be the best. Randal II 180mm or Bear 852s?

    Sorry for the double post
