I recently bought an eel and am super satisfied with the comfort, response, and overall performance of the board. It rides better than I actually imagined, and usually I overestimate the the performance/quality of things I buy. Not the case with the eel. One problem that I have discovered though is the grip tape. In some places along the sides of the board the grip tape has chipped off. Mainly just little sections not really a big deal. I'm curious why its happening though. It's not caused by the surface hitting the concrete, and the only thing I can think of is that my shoes are doing it during slides and shovits. Any one else encountered this? Had my s9 for almost 2 years and tape is in better condition than the eel's. I also have flipped the s9 a bunch during ghostflips and messed up slides. But by all means the eel is worth every penny, and I would go buy another today.
