    Default Gravity Drop Carve 41"

Does anyone have any experience with this board? I've been looking for a solid board to go along with my apex. something good for sliding.

I dont have anything against loaded, but there are too many people on campus with vanguards and Dervish for me to want to get one.

I dont know too much about different longboard brands, or options, but I would love a nice 180mm set of trucks, with some 80a or 83a 76mm wheels and a twin tip deck around 41"

After cruising around the site a little, and checking a few retailers. Ive come down to these two options. Mixing and matching is possible

    Fullbag speedstyler
    Bear 852's
    Bones Swiss labyrinth
    75mm 80a zigs

    Gravity Kalai
    Paris 180mm trucks
    Bones swiss labyrinth
    Otang 4 prez 80a

Im looking for a good all around board. I like the reversible bear 852's. with the option of running 57 angles, or 47 angles. I havent seen to much about them from my casual visits to the sites. Again, Im looking for something as an all around. commuter, slider. I like the wide body of the Speedstyler, I feel like it would have more grip and control in slides and more responsive from rail to rail...

    Any input?

Disclaimer: I ride for Gravity Skateboards.

That being said, I love my drop carve. It's a great deck that is fun for a variety of different disciplines of longboarding. I can definitely see it being used as a good DH or mostly freeride/slope style deck, but it can also be used for other things. I hold to the view that if you use a gravity board only one way, you're not getting the full potential out of it.

I don't do a whole lot of sliding, but stand ups are pretty easy for me on the drop carve.

Overall, the board just has a great feel. It's definitely a board worth looking into, and as I said, I love mine. The only warning I'd give you is that the flex isn't comparable to that of a loaded's flex pattern. I'm 160 and the regular flex is plenty stiff.

I got the board this weekend, it's a good board. A little heavy though. The specs say it has a 31" wheel base, not so... 33.5", it makes a difference. I got the regular flex, I'm 160and it is plenty stiff. Good down hiller and easy to slide, no problem with speed on my first few runs. Because of the fairly ridgid flex, not the greatest carver, but that's not what I got it for. Set up with Randal II 180, Khiro bushings 90a, O'Tang 75mm In Heat - 80a, builtin bearings.

    how're you defining wheelbase?

the convention is to measure the inner bolt-holes, using the axles different trucks can give you different measurements on the same board, even though in some ways it's a more meaningful number. However it sucks when comparing different boards, so we use the bolt-holes...

I measured between the axles. 31.5" is the wheel base when measured between inner bolt holes.

Im a little late to this thread but i have the kalai.

It seems that every one wants to compare the dervish with this board or others like it.

Dont make that mistake. They are Not the same at all. Not even comparable.

The kalai is the kalai and the dervish is the dervish and the Landyachtz is the

    Landyachtz.
I kept the randal 180s on it, I switched the bottom red bushing to the top, and put a medium weight non sloped bushing on the bottom. I run the trucks as loose as they will go because the bottom bushing supports it. This board, carves like a snow board and if you dig your back foot in it rides like a surf board. I have otang in heats, just because i could and they are great.
i have to get better bearings, the abec grease balls , ah suck. Ive washed and relubed them with the most industrial #### and they just spin for about a minute and a half.

I like to spin and dance on my board, so i stripped the grip tape off cause in the summer i like the wood feel under my bare feet. Over all, I give this board a 10.
