The Zigzags 70mm 80a (limes) are on my own Apex 37. They work great, and are just about perfect for the board. Sliding is easy with them. Ride for a day or two and soon after you can start speed checking no problem. Doing coleman slides could never be easier.

YouTube - Apex 37 Longboard Review

Brian Bishop is Original's team rider/friend. He's also registered here on SL. He almost exclusively rides the Apex 37. You can see halfway into the video he starts sliding the board like crazy with ease. He's using the same wheels we're speaking of and even recommends 'em.
im geting an apex 37 im just woried about the wheels for slideing, i want to get bigzigs or zigzags 80a, but does it hurt to get 83a limes??i mean i just like a wheel that can do simple speed checks like colemans etc. but nothin crazy. i want a balance on both cuz if i get a wheel thats to hard im might not enjoy the ride as much but i want a slide though.what duro>??

83a is still technically a soft wheel. I am sure they will grip fine. I carve on Otang Stimulus which are awesome round lipped freeride wheels but they grip fine when I need it. They are 83a as well and more geared towards sliding. The Lemon Zigs are gonna grip just fine.

I have the 80a limes and they work great. I'm not sure there's a huge difference between 80a and 83a all in all. I can do coleman slide with minimal effort. Speed checks and power slides should come easy too. I've almost got them down, but alas, since I bought my boards shortly after I've had a dislocated shoulder and surgery. Can't wait to get back out there. lol

The 80a got great grip especially for the amount of carving I do. Just remember sliding still comes easy. To be honest if you're gonna do hills or garages get the limes not the lemons. You can carve pretty hard down hills and garages but your wheels will slip every now and then. Sometimes it's controlled and/or controllable, but I've fallen a couple times where they slip from under me. There just comes a time (especially with limited space) that you just can't carve down a hill at a certain speed. It gets tricky. But I've picked up 20-30 mph on my Apex and straight rode it out. It CAN handle those speeds, just stay calm and confident. Garages can be tricky if you bomb them. The ones at my university the ramps lay side by side. So when you come down from one you have to turn hard right U-ie into the next one. After doing two levels you pick up some mad speed it gets kinda hard to do that hard turn without having the wheels slip from under, and if you don't turn enough you crash into the parking curbs. Tricky, indeed. The Apex just isn't great for that kind of stuff. But carving the garage down can be a tremendous ride.

Don't let it stop you. Ride fast my friend.
