the small wheelbase is making my high-tech runs fun again, just wish i could do the runs without having to grab rail to turn my board.
Now I understand why Mercado says he goes straight or sideways when it comes to sliding, I usually ride super-janky indy set-up, 18 or 19" wheelbase 36 pool decks with 6* wedging front and back, great for riding switch, but not james kelly "fast" switch.
I gotta start making prototypes 38-39" downhill decks all fibered up, the board im riding is dope...
That sounds like fun AJ. If you were to make a 38" fiber deck, I promise I would buy one.

Re: Indy DH plate
So today I received a 15*, 2 10* and a 5* baseplates from the man. I will be running the 15 in the front and the 0 in the back on my maryhill set up with a 25 inch wheelbase. But the real magic is the board I made today......... Took one of my Mercado models and gave it the cut outs that the david Price model has on the nose and tail. I like to call it the "Andrew Price" Model. The best part is with the cut outs I can run the two 10* plates I got flat with no risers and no wheel bite what so ever. this is seriously the dopest free-ride board I have ever stepped on. Photos and video tomorrow.

Re: Indy DH plate
Now, can you guys make a hanger similar to an airflow rear slalom hanger but in a 180mm width or larger so you can have split axles as well? I think that the combination of the good baseplate with awesome hangers like these will make for a NASTY truck. Also does anyone know if any slalom guys are using these baseplates as rear trucks? Seems like a good idea. Think it over...Also if you do make the split axle hangers on the dh plate can I proto them? hahaha

That would be really cool. So low....wedges would probably be in order as well.
Come on, Dave! 185-190mm Airflow Hangers? I'd def. buy some.
Count me in for one
i dont want street to be the only one with a super duper giant slalom setup

You are forgetting that the pivot angle of a truck (and especially and Indy) is *NOT* determined by the angle of the kingpin. The Cindrich 0 degree plate is actually a 17 degree de-wedge. Assume for arguments sake that the pivot angle of an Indy is 45 degrees (I think it is more but I really don't have the proper jigs and instruments to measure it. Although I plan on trying anyway tomorrow.)
Adding 50 degrees to 45 would give you a 95 degree pivot angle. Assuming the truck would turn at all it would turn like a 5 degree truck mounted backwards! It would turn in the opposite direction of the lean.

Re: Indy DH plate
It is still on a normal style baseplate so it pivots like a tracker or indy does. The only difference is that the axles are in line with the pivot point like on the old smokies and offset rear slalom trucks. It would feel really odd at first to ride a super low, super dewedged, split axle truck like this and I want to know if it works and the only way to know if it works is to try it. I don't have any money to try it myself but since you already have the plates being made maybe you could first borrow some of these slalom hangers, see how it feels and then try making a wider version. I bet it would be super high performance and some of the craziest trucks yet. It's worth a try, especially since every other precision truck that keeps coming out are all based on the same design with different materials and slight differences and the detailed specs but they all have the same principle. For some reason no one has made a truck like this that I have seen.

Edit I get it now. I'm an idiot.
So basically just as you've described. Inline Indys. Sick. Isn't Josh Rolf also working on something like this?
Mercado said something about it before
