............ Now I dont have any problems de-wedging, but I will say that it would be nice to have a baseplate that is already that angle I like. With that being said Josh Rolf from Munkae Trucks is working on a Precision Indy 215 that has the angle of a de-wedged indy how I like. The project is a ways out but when things develop ill post up.

once you run a split hanger, u dont need to dewedge...
(more weight on bushing)
john hutson was running his indy offsets frt and rr at a slalom contest...
Well something just clicked. Is the reason why everyone says Indys are super unstable for DH because your weight is on the pivot and not on the bushings?

Just by what I feel....I think that's part of the beginning of their "liveliness" for lack of a better word. Sensitive to board lean in a funny way, too IMO. I don't know any of the science behind any of it. The way they roll makes them tippier, divier, whatever you want to call it. With Indys, I don't think the lean to turn ratio is very exact at certain points around the curve. I think that's why I've always run them tighter than I do Randals, etc (which I didn't ride much until a couple years ago). I kept trying to make my first Randal 150s feel like Indys by running them looser and with softer bushings. That, of course made my Randals a little sloppier and feel very unstable (I've since gotten used to their turn once set up correctly).
I think the real DH disadvantage Indys have is in cornering. Some of this can be remedied with the dewedging (making for a smoother, albeit maybe larger radius), but in the end I don't think they'll ever rail a corner like a Crail or Jimz, at least for me.
A cool experiment is to try running your 215s on a narrow board. I used to run them (and Tracker 184s) on my old narrow Superglider. It gives a nice centered feeling and a smoother, more pointed turn. Although I know some people who hated it.
It would be nice to see these Indy compatible Airflow hangers make it to fruition, too but for now I'm pretty content with what we got.

I get the same impression too. The strange way the hanger twists around the kingpin at the bushings and the way the pivot pin looks like it is trying to pull itself out of the pivot hole at higher lean angles. I know this by having family members lean on the deck while I'm down on all fours on the kitchen floor. (Don't bother saying it - I already know I'm in need of psychiatric help...)

The bushings coming out of their seats, too.
Yeah sometimes just sliding a DH setup at slower speeds I'll get grip-break-grip-break, etc. (not a traditional "choppy" slide either)
Probably partly operator error.
Would the inline axles help much with this? Or is it just the nature of the way the thing pivots?
yeah i had a good time dh carving on my dh36 with stock front and 0* rear. i noticed that there is type of "dead spot" that i get when i lean too much the board just kind of stays leaned and doesnt rebound back to center as much as i'd want.
anybody understand where im getting at? lol
and also would a 10* front help this in anyway?

Sounds like your bushings may be a little too tight? You're using Elims, right?
Hard to say...I'm not much of a rebound fiend, especially for DH.
You'd probably despise my setup.
With a 17/0 setup you'll def. want harder bushings in the back truck, I'd think.
I weigh 220 and run 5/5 Cindrich plates. Green Elims bottom, black Bones HC top. It rebounds plenty for me, but like I said...
I think a 10 in front may be something to try. I read where Pet and Andrew are currently using this setup. I'd keep dialing.

Because.... Cindrich 200mm inline Indy hangers. Doesn't the name just sound badass?
I'm running 10º front with cupped washers all around Bones Hardcore bottom on top and red barrel bottom and same in the back only a green barrel. 1/2" riser and I'm not biting with 66mm wheels although I'm close. Money!

lolz i only had 1/8 risers on my dh36 and w/ fat free's and had a little under 1/2" to spare putting my full weight on one side. ill probably buy some bones hardcores soon and tinkle around with the bushing setup more
thanks guys!

I love hearing and seeing all these 215 setups. Money.
Jumping around here.....
Does anyone know if the Airflow hanger fits Indy plates? I was thinking that the Tracker RTS/X trucks were more like Indys, but it's been so long since I've seen them.
Thanks in advance.

Something tells me they don't fit. Airflow has weird pivots, it's like a screw or something. My buddy has an Airflow so I'll see if it fits in my Cindy and I'll getbackatcha.

I've never seen an Airflow except in action.

nahh ive tried to fit an indy hangar to a rt-x baseplate and it could (potentially) work with the bushings compression and all but the indy bushing seat isnt completely parallel and slants at a slight angle.

So the Indy hanger was tilted up and forward too far? Would that lead to binding issues? (more than the Indy+Indy match does already?)
What about an RTX hanger in an Indy plate?

looks like all you have to do is loose the bottom washer
