cuz i was gettin insane wheelbite as it was and i got a deal on the plates.
i also dont really like the feel of indys dropped as much as i like them topmounted.
What year Avenger?
You got them on the longest wheelbase setting?
its an 09 avenger and i have it on the innermost wheelbase setting. with the risers its fine. its as high as my other topmount.
wat weelz?
If you want to run 15/5 on that thing, I'd recommend wedging the front as you are doing, (should be about a 3/4" standard Khiro wedge to get you from 5* to 15*, although different manufacturers are a little different depending on the height of the low taper) and running 3/8" flat riser rear to even out your board height..
I'm not gonna get into the whole wheelbite prevention recommendation thing cuz it's different for different people, and way too many variables. I will say I ran 15/5 Cindys on my '08 Avenger (outermost holes) with EW 66mm wheels, no riser, and couldn't wheelbite to save my life.

i'll try out the outermost bolt holes and no risers, but will 5/5 be agile enough?

For me, it would be, on the inner holes. What wheels are you running? Maybe you could get away with running on the inner holes and smaller wheels?
You might just want to try it on the outer holes and see if it bites. Or turns. Or both. Or neither.
how good are these for speed compared to precision trucks? i never really saw indy as a downhill truck, but im new lol. i have a set of plain indys with stock everything and i never really could bomb on it. atleast not super fast or anything. are these plates like 100 times better for DH then the Core BPs?

its the difference between a 50* randal and a 42* and a 35*, its all preference and confidence. i just use the core plates without wedging, others use the various options that are offered here.

give a boarder the answer "feed" him for a day, teach a boarder to use the search function "feed" him for a lifetime.

i'm running the newer gen smokers, but i'm fine with just keeping the front wedged and the back as 5. right now the board is as tall as a normal topmount

imo
the diff is that the angle is built into the truck already, hence no dewedging is necc. keeping it low. if that is what u want, as stated earlier. BUT another huge diff is the preciseness of dave's craftsmanship and the stable and TRUE fit...equating to a smoother acting truck and a very stable feeling. I believe that any cindrich truck rider would agree with me on this. as far as indys for dh, ask mercado, or old timers like, hutson, blackhart, olson just to name a few.

Indys just turn differently than reverse kingpin trucks. It's something that the internet will not be able to show you, so go ahead and buy drop $90 on a set of 215s and Randal 180s and figure out for yourself which feeling you like.

Yah its weird. Indys don't have a straight pivot axis like Randal Geometry trucks. They turn more at the top end, and turn less as you get deeper into the lean. Randals turn and lean at the same consistency throughout the sweep. If you look at the axle nut of a hanger on an Indy plate, it wont move in a straight line throughout the sweep like a Randal will. It will move on a curved axis. Hard to get a grasp of it when just thinking about it. You have to ride them to realize how they feel, obviously. I love Indys.
Hey guys...
The plates got here yesterday. 2 plates of 5º....
They have an amazing look...they are beefy and strong!
I am also trying for the first time venom and sabre bushings...both same duro.
Using the Venom as bottom for now...
Who has experimented with a Venom bottom, felt the need to put a washer?I dont think its needed, but wanted to know how you guys set it up...
I am really stoked to test this time machine board...i went to the garage, 5 km/h cruising, just to see how they turn, and they really are "similar" to a 40º randal style, or something less.
I am getting wheelbite atm, so today im gonna recut the board...raisers would be an option, but i want this baby nice and low, so cutting the board is the only option left.
Wanted to thank Dave for being such an honest guy....and for putting such a wicked product in my hands!
2 pics as things are now...later ill post recut version of it!
Has anyone ridden them? How do they compare to cindys?
Ride much higher. Cast from Aluminum. Come in one kingpin angle (lower than 17 I believe. Maybe like 12* from the feel of them (from what I remember.)
So they are cast not CNCd. They have a high ride hight already and you need to wedge/dewedge them to have them at the angles you like. The only similarity is the geometry pretty much.
