i bought trucks instead.........
if i wasn't going fast i wouldn't need health insurance....that's my rational
That's a good plan right up until the point where it's not a good plan.
It's also my plan.
Meanwhile, my daredevil six-year-old bailed on a hill and messed up his elbow. He has health insurance. Which is good since he bombs with like an 18" wheelbase on stock indy 129 lows.
Happy belated birth Greg. Hope you got lots of presents and balloons.

That is a ####### killer lookin board dude. Awesome job.
I just switched back to flat Indy front and 10º back for old times sake (it's what I learned on) before a cemetery sesh tonight, and Jesus Christ I do not know how I used to do this. I mean, I could hit a straight bomb with this but they sure are divey in the corners. It's interesting to see the differences.
Which leads me to my next point, anyone got a 10º or 5º they want to trade for my 0º?

Yah its weird. Indys don't have a straight pivot axis like Randal Geometry trucks. They turn more at the top end, and turn less as you get deeper into the lean. Randals turn and lean at the same consistency throughout the sweep. If you look at the axle nut of a hanger on an Indy plate, it wont move in a straight line throughout the sweep like a Randal will. It will move on a curved axis. Hard to get a grasp of it when just thinking about it. You have to ride them to realize how they feel, obviously. I love Indys.
That's right, but this considered the hangers movement only. During a turn, the baseplate will also move sideways around the roll-axis and will add some side-movement to the bushing seat and the pivot-seat. The result is, that every truck will have a sinus-like turn as his base movement (the more you lean, the less will change).
A Indy has some additionally movement because of his crooked pivot moving around in the pivotcup, changing the pivot-axis-angle which will get flatter, the more you lean.
The conclusion is, that even a 45° randal style truck has not the same lean to turn consistency. It's not 5° lean = 5° turn.
The graph on the right will show the main difference, where you also can replace randal with any non-crooked pivot truck. It's not perfect and should only give a idea how it can look like. Interesting is only the part up to circa 15° lean (It's small, thats true). Both trucks have the same initial pivot-angle.
On the left the arrow pointing downwards is the movement of the Indy pivot.
I hope, that's all correct, not 100% sure about it.
Sorry if my posts are boring and I sound like a smart-ass, just want to give my minuscule 2 cent.
EDIT: forgot to mention slop, which will change the graph a bit.
The faster you ride, the more lean you need to get the same turn with a randal style truck.More slop at the bushing seat or pivot means more lean for the same turn (softer bottom-bushings act the same. inertia will compress them and the result is a reduced turn). The closer the roll-center comes to the center of the bushing seat, the smaller will be the effect of slop (less leverage).
Not sure about that for a indy style truck, I'm only sure, that slop will also change the graph.
Thanks a lot for your comment Jar...
Thats the board i have at the moment, and i just couldnt wait for the board ill build in the next weeks, to be able to ride the trucks without no wheelbite...so went with the cut.
Yesterday and today i have been working on the new shape, and this is the design i came up with...
In honor to Dave and Streetheap, im gonna call it CINDYrella....
Design may still change a bit...if you wanna point anything out, be my guest!
Measures
10" width
30.7" WB
The front is on the left...and im not totally happy with it!
Seems like a guy with small neck...

Guivans I really like that template. Is the 10" width before or after the concave?
Since you will be riding 5/5 plates, why not make the deck symmetrical? It looks like the rails are symmetrical, why not make the head and tail the same? Or do you have a different setup planned?
Looks pretty cool the way it is though, IMO.
Glad you like it Street...
The rails are in fact parallel, but i find the looks of symetricals more nice for a freeride board...
My intentions are to build a good performance dh board...that suits my skills, needs and measures!
And i find way more racing looks an assymetrical board.
The setup is gonna be the cindys...5/5. Just the back more tighten than front thats all...
I dont know what to change atm...gotta get some more inspiration!
Im not in a hurry thought...just wanna have it finished till Christmas!
Its gonna be my present for myself!
Oh, and 10" as it is...but it wont decrease as much with the concave!

Think this will be my final aproach to it. In every case, a beautiful skate doesnt make you faster...
I had a shape design wich was so awesome, imo, but doesnt suit the purpose of this board, since it would have major bite with the cindys.
This way, i have a totally function board, i took all measures to assure i could loose my trucks to the max and have no wheelbite.
This way, will be a board suitable for very slow fun stuff, and more than ready to high speed madness...
Within time, ill start the build...hope near christmas or new year, have things ready!
Thanks a lot buds...
Im really stoked to see this thing become alive...
Im now researching about some new materials ( for me at least , since never used them ) i might incorporate in it....
And since it will be a very experimentational thing, its gonna be take of the press, analise strenght and flex, if little, back to press, more fiber, out of press, analise bla bla bla until done...

Do you guys like it or not?thoughts?
Cheers, oh, and cindys ROCK btw.!!!
Looks good, just one suggestion, make a template of only half of the board, and then use that for both sides when you are ready to trace and cut wood. that way you can maintain a more symmetrical shape.
