Re: Indy DH plate
I run loose hangers on eliminators to deal with slop. I ran the same board down the same hill 4-5 days on stock Indy's dropped through and then 3 days so far on 15º/5º and there is no question I can feel the difference. I am soo much faster through corners now especially with drifting, I never touch my bushings they are as loose for straight line speed as they are for corners which wasn't true on stock Indy plates.

I run mine on a flush pagan. Lowest board ive ever had. Lower than my dropspeed on flat indys. I wanted a really easy board to push after I broke my ankle so I was trying to make a nice low topmount. I had to go with bigger wheels to avoid railbite. I dont mind flat indys, but wanted to have the ability to change my KP easier and try out some new products and I happened to really like them.

at speeds around 40mph they are fine for my ankles. I haven't been above 50mph since I broke my ankle and in truth it doesn't have the appeal that it used to.

Re: Indy DH plate
I've been reading this thread for a bit off and on now, and I thought I'd jump into the game when some cindy right angle kingpin were posted in the classifieds. After reading Jar's write about how great the plates were on a toecutter I thought they would go well on my toecutter (except I didn't listen to his degree recommendation) So I bought a pair and they arrive in great condition and I put them on my toecutter with my hybrid indy bushing set up (sabre cone and lime reflex short cone) and I get hanger bite... so I figure the bushings are too soft, so I put on harder bushings (purple sabre and sabre cone) still get hanger bite. Then I put on the hardest combo I have (red reflex and purple sabre) and I still get hanger bite... Then I try my blue eliminators with the reflex barrel this was the best feeling combo, but I still get hanger bite. Then I topmounted the plates. This was better, and a nice ride, but I didn't like the feeling of the toecutter topmounted so I put it back. I compared them to my indy and core plates and found where my problem was... so I am good in that respect.
This was my own fault, as a librarian I should know obsessive research is the only way to make a decision, but I followed my gut and now I feel stupid.
So here is my questions for recommendations: Do I keep them and modify them cheaply, such as getting a khiro wedge kit? Do you think harder eliminators (87-93) will work? Or do I sell them, take the cut in what I paid and get something like a 10/10, 15/10, or 10/5 to replace it?
I love the feel of the plates, they are excellent, so I am leaning to the selling and rebuying, but if someone else has experienced this and has an easy fix I would be willing to listen.
Thanks!

Dropped thru Cindys can be rough. If you have a thick board (10+ply) then there's not much room for anything. I did have them dropped thru on my 10-ply Asym, but definintely like them better topmounted.
Xgecko drops his through on a Clutch something or another (I believe). You might wanna PM him. He's a smart guy.
As far as baseplate angles, I run my Asym on the shortest wheelbase (around 31.5) and use the 10/5 plates. But the way I got my bushings setup, I could easily go 10/10 and it wouldn't be that much different, because I've got mine setup to be pretty responsive. I have gone with a stock Indy plate front, 0* rear for less turny hills, and that was fine as well. I'm really not a good enough DH'er to be super picky, so I just deal with what I have. Although.... experimenting with different boards and plates is pretty fun. I haven't really found a setup with these that I can't fix with a bushing tweak, so I must be doing something right. I do know that I don't like less than a 10* front though.
Sorry I'm kinda rambling but I hope I helped in some way.

Re: Indy DH plate
Quit calling vertical kingpin Indy setups "0°", it's not. The angle of the pivot axis determines a Chicago geometry truck's turning angle not the angle of the kingpin.
BTW, I've got an Earthwing Mystery Model with a rear Indy 215 dewedged to almost vertical with Khiro 15° wedges from the kit and it works great with a RII 180 up front. The wedging brings the Indy axle to about the same height as the Randal. Maybe Santa will bring me a Cindrich baseplate for Christmas but I'm not holding my breath...

I fixed my terminology.

I know, and I don't care. I'm referencing the KP angle, not the turning angle. For what we're doing here, it's easier to label them this way.
Most people who ride these things realize how they steer.
