That design looks great!!! Most cutout decks have excessively large cut outs. I'd rather run smaller wheels and have plnty of room for my front foot all the way forward. That deck looks like it has it.

Re: Indy DH plate
Good to know you guys enjoyed it....nice that you noticed that "detail" EC.
In fact, since this board was made specially for the use of cindys, and normally running on bigzigs, i could take all the measurements the most precise way i could possibly take them, to allow the most wood possible on the deck.
Hope that my measurements were taken nicely, so that i dont have to modify it after cut...
Its good when you build your own stuff, that you can just modify what you think of "failure" in other designs...Drop Thrus are usually more functional. You can run a number of trucks and wheels without a problem, a fact that lacks a lot on topmounts.
Many have great designs, but they arent functional.
This is the point i think its crucial on a skateboard....Functionality.
And this is my interpretation of it...
Soon as i have updates, gonna post em here....
Cheers

Re: Indy DH plate
Today i had a dream...i was winning 2010 IGSA championship on my cindys!
I was on the podium, enjoying my moment, when i noticed everybody in the front row was talking about the cindys, how good looking they are, how low theyre profile is, bla bla bla bla...in the end, in the middle of the crowd, comes this magnificent brunette, wearing some crazy sexy Victoria Secrets leathers for speedboarding. She stood right after me...for the whole ceremony, she was just by my side, with an endless smile of cute and naughtiness.
After we went for a beer...we sit over the green grass and kept there for the entire afternoon, until the sun went down. We were chating, just getting to know ourselves, enjoying each other.
I was feeling it was time to make the move...we went down to my tent, and after some serious eye talking, where no words are needed, i was starting to have the feel of her soft skin between my hands...
Our bodies were sweating all over, our minds focused on each other, i was waiting for a sign of her to get to the next step, when she suddenly asks me "Hey Sweetie, where do you buy replacing pivot cups for your cindys???????"...
Even thinking that this was a very strange question for a moment like this, i decided i would be honest with her...i told her "I dont know...i am using some pivots from the stock indys i have, but about buying only the cups, i dont know anything about..."
With a cold looking face, she told me "Youre a noob...." and left....
Can you guys help me out?Where to buy only the cups?
Maybe i will Redream this dream, and that way , i can finish the story the good way...

Re: Indy DH plate
Oh...thanks for the fast answers!
I thought khiro only had 1 model of cups, and that were similar to Randals...
Those are great news then...
Babe has been sent to you Streetheap!
Since i still flirted with her, wich caused her leathers to be a bit crumpled, i offer you the shippping costs....

Re: Indy DH plate
I know this is off topic, but what's the best way to get rid of slop around the KP in Core plates? One of mine is fairly snug, but the other can move probably 1/16" either direction before touching the baseplate.
You are not the light of my life.
Making you happy isn't my greatest dream.
Your smile is not all I live for;
I've got my own stuff going on.
But you're strange and fascinating
and I've never met anyone like you.
I want to give you everything.
Just to see what you would do with it.

Re: Indy DH plate
Teflon tape may work, but I havent tried myself, and would also like a solution to sloppy kingpins. I put indy 169 on my glider because they respond better than the hybrids.

Epoxy if you want them jiggle free. I use JB weld or whatever is handy.

Re: Indy DH plate
Holy ####! Good to see Daves plates are still rockin hard! Ive been away for a while working on getting my web site going so I havent had the chance to keep track of things. Ive put in enough time on them to know they are the best if you wanna run Indys! I really dont see myself ever going back to riding de-wedged Indys. To all of you riding Indys... Keep flying the flag!!!!!! Ride the best, F*ck the rest!!!!
Till the next time I wander back on Silverfish...............

Re: Indy DH plate
hm, i've just started riding indys topmounted. i've only skated them flat, i actually only threw em on there because i didn't feel like driving home and grabbing my randal hangers. I am loving how they feel for predrifts and how they feel when cornering, a bit drifty but i figure that will change when i dewedge them.
will a 10*/5* initiate a slide easier than 10*/0*? And will the 10*/0* grip harder through hairpins?
will a 10*/10* be similar to a double dewedged set up?
EDIT-
Well i just spent a good amount of time tinkering with the indy-core hybrids and ended up dewedging the set up with some bearing spacers, set up on a topmount bombsquad '313 invader copy' deck, indy-core hybrids, 80a 71mm gators, 87a venom barrel bottom/x-type sabre top
First i bombed the hill with no dewedging, i could lose traction on every carve with incredible ease. I drifted the right hand turn at the bottom of my hill (the turn you usually hit around 27-30mph, my neighbor is a cop and he measured my speed with his laser gun he uses when hes on duty).
Second i dewedged the back truck, rode it down a hill a few times. I could no longer break traction with ease on every carve. There was quite a bit more resistance to initiating a slide. I surfed the right hand turn with excellent grip.
Third i dewedged both the front and back. Killer. I had a ton more traction than with the flat indies, and it held traction while speed carving very well. I was able to surf the right hand turn at the bottom of the hill with excellent grip. I didn't really feel a difference between the second set up and this set up until i threw some slides, it felt more like the flat indys than the second set up when sliding (which was what i was expecting and hoping for).
From this quick little single hill session i really like the indies. I am interested to feel them above 33mph (gauged by a car) because thats when i started feeling iffy on the flat indies.
Next up, bushing combinations.
This probably some very elementary information, but it would have come in handy to me when i was first getting into truck set ups so i figure it could help someone else.

Re: Indy DH plate
Hello....
I was thinking about upgrading my bushing combo with some elims.
I am currently running green venom bottom with green sabres on top, both in front and back.
I have to say that i want to do this, not beacause i feel the need, but just because i want to try it...
For now, i have been running my plates really loose like i havent on any other trucks, and it feels very smooth and with controled leaning.
Stims are mostly good to use on bottom right?Should i get only 2 to put on bottom, or go fully stim?
What duro do you suggest?
Stims have a more restriction to lean right?Should i get red stims then?
Thanks a lot...
PS- just bought the wood yesterday for the Cindyrela...gonna get some epoxy and FB in the next days....soon as i have something going on, im gonna post it here!

Re: Indy DH plate
I've been using a 0 degree cindy as a rear truck. Either step on the elim is a bit small diameter to fully fill the Indy seat
However they work well to limit lean as long as you
a) squish them pretty good to get rid of jank
and/or
b) use them in addition to a larger diamneter bushing like a bones hardcore or a good barrel
Streeetheap uses elim bottoms and bones hardcore top and he get no side to side play in his cindys. I've been using a tracker superball on the bottom with a reflex barel top and it also eliminates slop. If you don't eliminate slop you'll still get lean whether the bushing is a fat stim shape or not. Most of the time I like my Indys sloppy, but for DH I get better traction and more controlled slides with them less sloppy. Softer bushings in any shape can of course be squished more to take up slop but it depends on how soft you want to go and the stability trade off. Also of course, depending on thane quality youll lose rebound the more you squish them or pre load them
hope I could help
oh and the board looks sick by the way
