The proto plates-
After speaking with Dave last night, Mercado is going to be the main man to try these babys out first. I will be receiving a set as well to try out, and maybe race (if I can come up with a setup that beats my Caften). I may just race them anyway...
Regardless, those of you attending the Tri-cities, WA race Aug 1st will get to see them/try them out.
Oh yeah, Flannelman is getting a set too, so if any of you know him, bug him to let you try them out.
Thanks again for all the kind words and support, guys.

well i guess you let the cat out of the bag...
my friends are going to love me. (i will let them play with them as hard as they want to)
i dont do strict downhill, mostly carving down shady wooded backroads, and commuting, but now i will try to go faster (stil have the fear since i took a bad fall a while ago)
it was sure fun to look at the development of this stuff and help a bit (i didnt really do that much though).
remember, we are getting proto plates, so there will be room for editing in design if something can add to the stoke. (and frankly i am stoked to recieve a set cuz i would nevwer be able to afford them myself.) now i can have a set of supper stable indys, and a set of carvy indys. and trade my 215 hanger back and forth. i will give all the input i can into the final design, though i am sure that they will be just fine.
i am very grateful that Dave is willing to take time out of his real job to develope stuff that we ask for, not just stuff that he wants to make. buy a set, and help a builder out. buy far, he is the best in customer service, especialy concidering that Cindrich Billiet Longboards is a one man band.

Ya know it would be kinda cool to get my hands on some of these + sphericals then have almost precision Indy's, which kinda entirely defeats the purpose of Indy's.

I'm thinking $95 is a little steep for baseplates who's only seeming benefits are a different kingpin angle. Do the tighter tolerances really make that much of a difference especially with non-precision hangers?
'Nother thought: Who wants precision indy style hangers?
Those look so great! I was thinking about what Mercado said about Big Air or whatever and that is an extremely awesome niche market to have on lock. Hopefully I can r
try some of these at some point.

Without sounding like a white-Irish-American-pimp here...........
An update on the plates from my perspective:
Dave has sent me 2 sets. One set I will be using, the other set is going to Mercado ASAP, so hopefully he'll have them by this weekend. I'll get pics, and hopefully some video, up by next week, along with an honest review.
I hope I don't sound like a hype-monger, and apologize in advance if I do.

You don't. This is exciting stuff ! The community at its finest !
If I didn't just buy a set of Sandwich's adjustable plates I would have gotten a set myself. I think I will wait for your review to see how they handle with the 90* KP. I want to put them on my Hellcat which currently has 42* Randals. If it has similar lean to the 42s/stock Indys while being less twitchy as the stock Indys I will definitely get a set. I have dreams of these with 83mm reflex flys when/if they finally come out.

Thanks. Yeah that's about as excited as I'll ever get over skate stuff.
Dave told me..... as the baseplates stand now, they are about 3/16" lower than stock Indy plates.
It's gonna take a while to figure out how to wedge/raise to avoid wheelbite and sort out the whole drift/traction thing topmounted. For DH, I usually run about +7-10* in the front. Right now I'm planning on a 1/2" wedge in the front and a 1/2" flat for the rear. On a Revenger or Voodoo XL. Might have to do some board "adjusting".
With any luck I will be getting an 09 avenger around the same time flannelman gets his proto plates, so if he's in a good mood I'm hoping he'll let me try them on my avenger . If he does I'll post up my thoughts on them, I do what most here would consider "mild" DH so I'll be able to test them out on some 30mph or so hills hopefully.

Its not really a 0* baseplate, the kingpin is at 0* but the way the truck works, different from a reverse kingpin truck like a randal, it turns differently, so really, this is more like a 45* baseplate.
Hope that helped. And Andrew, you are geekin hard.
sorry for the thread jack but does that mean for it to be like a 35* randal the kingpin would be pointing backwards?
