I usually run two Khiro cones in an hourglass shape on the bottom and a barrel on top.

Check out Pavedwave.org for more ideas.

I ride Venom barrel's or cones on mine (usually 85-90a) and I stack cup washers under them (because there will be space if you don't do that because venoms are not tall enough).

check the bushings forum- venom, abec11, carver, etc..
pavedwave longboarding :: Setups - bushings

in general i prefer barrels over hourglass, even though the holeys are one of the only bushings that fit the stock-bennett size right out of the box, whereas the khiro/venom combos always require some bit of shimmying.

seems to me that when going hourglass you almost have to bump the duro up a notch or more because the shape itself compresses faster and doesn't rebound as powerfully. that may be more perception than scientifically tested but it seems the case to me.

The Holeys work fine, until they start to shred apart due to the nature of LDP/Bennett front. Khiros hold up the best. The new Abec11 bushings that just came out are very nice and after three weeks of testing, still haven't torn or cracked.

truth on the holeys, they do go to pieces faster. i see the same with the Venoms, they disintegrate quicker in the Bennett trucks, which torque them a lot more than they're used to in all the reverse-kingpin precision trucks where they've spent most of their test time.

the khiro barrel + small cone on bottom has one caveat (mentioned many times on pavedwave forum): the two put together are taller than a stock Bennett bushing, so they do NOT fit into the Bennett truk perfectly -- they take some muscle to jam them down and will work into place over time. and I don't usually use a bottom washer for the same reason, it takes up a sliver of extra space.

As noted above they talk about a number of bushings including springs. BUT, there also are not that many people who are into LDP AND sharing their thoughts and experiences. So the forum is not as busy as say this place, nor as filled with hype, flaming etc.

One thing that many here may not realize is that if you removed the hype from the recent bushings. You might find that Khiros were better for certain things. You might also find that some are slowly testing all the new bushings for LDP (the people by bushings like Dozer buys......). So while Khiro may be the favorite right now, it may not be that way forever....

Will anybody still cut a bennett size bushing from a wheel??

The new Reflex bushings are worth checking out for Bennetts due to the fact that they seem to be taller than your average bushings. At least all the ones I have are except my lemon barrels. I haven't had the chance to try them out yet but plan to soon (like this week). The barrels and the tall cones are not as tall as the bottom Bennett bushing but come about as close as any. I like the way they feel and skate. So these could become my next go to bushing for Bennetts.

Otherwise I do a couple of different things with bushings for Bennetts.
Number one thing: Tracker Houglass bushings. I love them on Bennetts. I sit the bottom bushing on top of a short cone from a Khiro barrel set. (I prefer using the harder cones for this. Others like using the softer. I find the harder help with rebound. Softer can help you achieve the proper ride height for the hanger better.) I remove the bottom washer to help compensate for the difference in bushing height.

Number two thing. Same as above but with Khiro barrels.

Number three thing. Khiro barrels with either nylon washers to shim them up or a cut down bushing to use as a spacer/bushing extender. The cut down bushing works great. You just cut a sliver off an bushing to make the bottom the same height as the stock bottom bushing. You can use pretty much any duro you wish with little real noticeable difference. I do keep the bottom washer on when I do this. I prefer the cut down bushing or the nylon washers but sometimes it's just easier to go buy the washers instead of cutting down a bushing. You do get a little more playing around action on the washers. You can add or remove washers to affect the action slightly. That comes in handy if you play around with the top bushing sizes.
