    Default Need help choosing trucks.

Hey everyone, recently ive been looking for new trucks and have been looking at the randall 180's, some khiros (dont know exact name) and gullwing side winders.
Ive got the sector 9 sunset at the moment (drop through) with gullwing chargers.
Im looking for some trucks that are good for carving but wont give me tons of wobble down hills.

sidewinders are all sorts of fun, but not what id recommend for dh action. stick with the randalls for speed.

Swapping bushings can radically change the feel of the truck.

I suggest that you start with replacing the cupped washers with flat washers and try experimenting with bushings before spending money of different trucks.

I put a set of Venom Super Carves in my Charges and they became wonderful trucks. Handle speed well and turn great. I did not like the stock bushings (in those particular trucks, they work OK in some other set ups) at all. I have the Chinese made Chargers. If you are set on new trucks, Randals are great and their new stock bushings are pretty good too.

I couldn't agree more. Chargers are like the most widely adjustable trucks that I have ever messed with extensively. If you remove the baseplate washer, and put soft bushings on them, they will be the most squirrely trucks you can find around. If you put a flat washer on the baseplate side with the same bushings, they are great for carving. If you put a cup baseplate washer on with the same bushings, your turning is compromised greatly. You can set these trucks up so many different ways. Try to mess with them a little.

I suggest you put a flat baseplate washer on, and get some Venoms, or White JimZ, or some better bushings before you get new trucks.

Randals are infinitely better for DH IMO. Paris are infinitely better for carving IMO.

randals and paris are both great trucks. if ur changing out the bushings id get the randals, made in the us and just a great truck. if youre planning on using the stock bushings, grab the paris, the bushings are very solid all around and the stock randal bushings are rocks

hope it helps, cant go wrong either way
