try to research more. this thread should be very helpful, read through it and get pointers.
some people who have the same weight and height as you would use bushings that you won't like.
it's really more experimentation/ trial and error to get the bushing set-up specific to your needs/wants.
like what was suggested earlier, buy a bunch of bushings to try out then just sell what you won't use. that's what i did.

say you were a heavy person but you wanted to try really soft bushings you would put a harder bushing boardside and a softer one roadside so then it wouldnt be crushing the softer bushing on boardside. also mixing bushings is going to afect rebound. my favorite mix is a blue khiro barrel boardside and a white khiro barrel roadside. its very responsive and cheap money wise. but if you want really nice bushings buy and mix diferent venoms or relflex's

roadside=bottom
is this right?

the boardside bushing would be the bushing closest to the board and the roadside bushing would be the bushing that would be closest to the road when you are riding it

Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
Boardside is bottom, road side is top.

It's other way around because the perspective is when you are messing with them. You would flip the board upside down so you can miss with your trucks and the top bushing on the truck would actually be roadside when you ride and the bottom bushing is the one closes to the board.

Will venom barrels and bones hardcore mediums fit on a stock indy kingpin?
if not, does anyone have any good bushing ideas?

Mixing is for both that's what makes bushings so versatile and complicated. Shape wise are already mixed as the standard is a barrel on bottom for stability and a cone for turning. You can also go for double barrels for more stable/less turn or double cones for more turn/less stable.
Although there is the option of different duros for example double barrels with a hard brrel for bottom for stability w/ softer one on top to have a bit of stability plus turn OR soft duros up front and harder ones in back so the rear is more stable while the front has more turn.
This information should be easy to find with the search function.

You're welcome, I just hope all of that was correct and hopefully a more experienced ride will agree or link to a reliable source that elaborates more on it

Hardness:
Bushings have a perfect compression point (How tight you crank your kingpin). This is when the bushing is 'engaged' at the center point, when the truck is not turning, but not too tight that the bushing is already in a state of compression. There should be no slop if you wiggle it before you can feel the bushing engage. It should have a smooth feeling. The sides should not be bulging out at all at the center point.
If you have slop, use softer bushings. If you have bulging edges, use harder bushings.
hhhmmmm I'm still a bit confuse on this part....

Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
I've got Tracker 149mms RTS/RTX trucks on my 40" pintail and a crazy and slightly confusing bushing setup on it.
The Tracker RTS truck is stable and quick and has the stability of a full contact pivot point, it is my rear "traction" truck.
The Tracker RTX truck is responsive and loose, it is my front "Turn" truck.
As for bushings, i have 2 soft Hourglass bushing in the RTX and i think Yellow Khiro Cone for the Top rear and soft Hourglass for the bottom RTS. It rides smooth, got low squish, and good bounce. I'm looking to increase the Bounce/Rebound slightly without changing the smoothness of the ride and the squish. Can you explain to me what a Hourglass bushing does (like you did with Barrel and Cones)?
Also, I have Tracker Fasttracks and i broke in the bushings. Now they feel real turny, but still have about the same turning radius and better rebound. What can i do to add rebound and less squish and more compression. These are my only DH trucks, so i want them to be the best they can be. I'm currently riding them on the Arcane Bomber 42"
