Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
Hej! I want to make my boards more pumpable and started playing around
with my trucks right now. I discovered that loosening them up is
pretty helpful. I would like to get some softer bushings now, as my
old ones seem to be too hard for the now looser trucks. but I have not
really a clue what would be best to order. could u help me with that?
I have a pair of paris and grizzlys (both 180). my weight is about
55kg.
thanx alot!!!

Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
may i recommend reflex barrel bushings? my favorite combo so far consists of three bushings, here is the order:
green tall cone
hangar
pink barrel
orange short cone
you may need a longer kingpin, im running a 3 in reversed kingpin in my bennetts and it feels excellent.
reflex bushings are my favorite bushings, i own venoms and reflex and have tried khiros, i bought the venoms first, and loved them. then the reflex came out and i purchased some, never looked back and im on my 3rd set. they pop back to center better then venoms and khiros, are much more stable than khiros (not venoms though) and are compatable with just about any truck. i swear i can pump standing still with these things, not really, but you get the picture.
here are my favorite combos that ive tried with the reflex other than the one i said first:
pink barrel
hangar
pink tall cone
green tall cone
hanger
pink tall cone
green tall cone
hangar
pink barrel

Kingpins
Your average kingpin on a Randal truck is a bit small. And a bit weak (Altho Ithink they've changed that). And the wrong way round! Oh dear.
In order to run double barrel bushings like Sabres, ABEC11, Venom etc you will need a longer kingpin. While you're at it, it's probably best to get a stronger one too.
i run venoms no problem on my randals with the stock kingpin, cranked as tight as it can go, otherwise i get wheel bite...

It's a Sector Nine 38" Kommi with gullwing trucks that came on it. I want to be able to carve and slide at times and also be able to go without speed wobbles at high speeds. im sick of tightening and loosining everytime i either hike a hill or cruse a gradule slope... any sudjestions would be tight. thanks.
Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
red venom barrels all around and you'll get the stability and agility you want. me and you are about the same size and i run the same bushing set up, i interchange the bottom with red eliminators for some extra lean and side leverage for sliding.
as far as wobbles go, it comes with experience. once those little stabilizer muscles are used to the motions and twitches of skating it will be a lot easier.

Thats cool. Thanks man ill give them a try. Anyone else have any other sudjestions? just so i can pick them all up at the same time and try them out at the same time. Think any barrel and cone combinations would suit me well? oh and does anyone happen to know what bushings come in the gullwing chargers?

Heh, see that's the problem you end up having to crank em. A harder bushing with a longer kingpin will make them run nicer. I hate the feel of an over compressed bushing...

What would you put on this set up?

The carving and sliding is fine, the stability is up to you I'm afraid. Always go soft as you can without it feeling weird and scary.
Try some double barrels, sabre are rad, I weigh about 200lbs and really like a green R-type bottom and purple F-type top for carvy funtimes whilst still being very stable. It doesn't look like you have too much chance of wheelbite on that one so at 150lbs I'd say get purple sabres all round and strengthen those ankles! Mike River rides those bushings at 60mph so they're as 'stable' as you need hahaha.

Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
so im riding a rayne hustler equiped with bear grizzlies (852) and O-tang in heat's, whenever i turn weather i lean or carve there is a creeking sound coming from the truck, there the axel meets the top half, and i was wondering if it has anthing to do with the bushings
i have the stock orange 85a pumpkin bushings on it now and i was wondering if i got a softer bushing and tightened the truck if that would eliminate the creek sound and still give the loose truck that i like
