i also have a set of indy's and i hate them. the only good thing is how low they are. i can't get a good carvy feel on them, and i can't turn very well, which sucks, considering my setup is pretty much for campus cruising. is there a way to make them better? i tried to switch bushings around, but the kingpin is really short
in my opinion bones hardcores are the best bushings for stock indy plates. if you can, pound out the stock pin and slide in a new one or buy the core plates. venoms are great in indys when you can get them to fit.
as for randals, softer bushings than the stock ones are great. venom standard or super carve will work.
if you cant get the indys to work, send them to me and ill try and find a place for them

Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
^^ yeah, pretty much what he said except just send me the hangars off those crappy old, non turning, crappy Indys. You don't want 'em.
They'll fit in well with all of my Indy hybrids. lol... Really though, go get a set of core baseplates from MHS or somebody. I run sabre bushings on most of mine. Carving madness. I do have a couple of Danny Way's but can't say off hand what bushings I've got on 'em.
What size Indy's?

Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
I'm using 90a venom barrels w/ cup washers but I want something with more resistance to the lean in the center, not full lean restriction. Should I get harder barrels or (harder, same duro, softer) eliminators?

Harder barrels I reckon.
How does this sound for me? (first custom bushing setup)
I love the carvy feel and lil bit of DH every now and then.
I got randal 180's coming and (Bottom) Venom elim's 90a and (top) Venom supercarve 85a.
Elims for stability, and supercarve...for well...carving?
Sound good for me?
Should be fun. The duro really depends on your weight though.

Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
Okay question. I'm getting new bear 852's but have heard that the stock bushings suck. Anybody have some suggestions for new ones? I heard khiro's and venoms are good but I'm new to this so idk. I weigh 190 and am going to be carving with some bombing thrown in there. Help?

Another question. What do flat washers do for the truck or bushings?

cups sometimes cut into your bushings if theyre not flipped. flats don't. but i feel that a flipped cup on top feels reaaaaal good

Re: Bushings. Different types and how to set them up.
i seen that the elims that were recommended to me and my bro were about 85 and 90a duros but the bear pumpkins are 85a should we just keep the pumpkins?

If you like them yes, if you don't like them, no.

havent tried the new pumpkins which use the venom urethane (or so i heard) but the old pumpkins and elims have totally different feels - venom: lively, pumpkin: dead.

flat washers feel way better IMO. and also for those with randal standard bushings, if your like me and want new bushings but can't be bothered getting them and you tighten them for DH (not serious stuff) watch for them cracking. mine actually swallowed the back washer and found that cos of the stress they cracked. use huge washers that don't let the bushings around them then crank them down to just buldgeing and you can get a very proggressive feel that i think is perfect for DH.
