would there be differences in the plates for the 4.3's as compared to the 5.0 or 6.0s or would it be a standard "one plate fits all" kinda deal?
when would we expect to see these in our hands?
I hope I can make a one plate fits all kind of thing, but I don't know at this point, i'm still learning as I go. I don't know much about Bennett's.
I'll figure out something, and with the help of everyone I should be able to make something that works really well.
might as well as make "one plate fits all" kinda type.
you want a plate you can base your model on? i have couple of bennett plates lying around.
i don't really like the idea of adjustable plate, with the added height, it'll end up the same.
but we'll see..it depends on the model too.

however, the adjustable plate may help in terms of convenience, might not need to go through mix and match risers to dial in. plus if he could manage to make the plate able to utilize smaller bolts that would be a plus as well. not to mention no more bent bolts. i guess we'll have to wait and see = (

if im not mistaken all bennett sizes use the same plate/same size bushing seat, just shorter hangars, correct me im wrong so i dont think it would be a big hassle to make a one size fits all plate.
i still think it would be great to have an inverted kingpin, i just inverted mine today, and purchased a longer kingpin. it works great now that my bennetts are wedged like crazy

Bennett 6.0 baseplates are 3/8 inch taller than the 4.3/5.0

i am also interested. i am building an LDP, and my bennett and tracker combo is in the mail. i dont know much about this subject, so i will just observe. Dave, you should contact some guys over at pavedwaves.org and have them shoot you some ideas.
I hate to say "I told you so...." Dave. But it's fun sometimes...
On the adjustable, 0, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19 degrees.
A custom kingpin to not chew on the bushings. (Check the pavedwave forums in my sig.)
Start with a 5.0 Bennett plate as the model.
A non adjustable baseplate with no wedge would be fine as well.
When you build in wedge, de-wedge it would be two completely different baseplate designs...
*What most people are interested in is a single front 5.0 style, adjustable, baseplate with the angles mentioned above. Fulcrum of the wedge to be placed at the pivot cut end of the plate.

Re: Bennett base plates
Well its been a long time coming, but I've finally started programing some Bennett base plates. The stock plate has a king pin angle of about 10 degrees, so I'm going to make a 15 degree first, and then a 20 degree,10, 5, and 0. They will be about $43.00 per plate. I've got the 15 degree plate programed, I just need a free machine now, and a little time to start making a few. I'll try and get the other ones programed later this week, and have all of them available by next week or so.
I'm not sure if I'll mess around with the adjustable Bennett yet, but for those who want that more, you will just have to be more patient.

Re: Bennett base plates
here is the first set of 15 degree king pin "Bendies" (what ever you all want to call them).
I intend on making 20 degree plates next, and then maybe 5, and 0, and then 10 last. The stock Bennett plate has the king pin at about 10 degrees.

Now we are getting somewhere. Seeing is believing.
