So I've been looking around on the forums, trying to figure out if this is viable for Speed Boarding. I've seen that people say they're compatible without too much issue, true?
I've speed boarded on Bennett Vectors, and as long as you have some good bushings in there, and you tighten down, it is stable, and still a very turny ride.
Only reason I'm asking about the 215s is because my board with the Bennetts got run over, and bent the hangers to crap. So either I have to come across some Bennett Vector 6.0 hangers, which aren't even advertised on their site. Or I find the widely popular 215 hangers.
Input?
Also, forgive and grammatical errors, it's 6AM here, and I've been fuxxing around with my board all night. If you know what I mean ;D
Got some Randal's 180s, 150s, on 35*s, 42*s and 50*s. I really like the Bennetts. Adjusted right those could give me the carv I wanted as well as stability up to 40.
I already knew of the Core combo, but I've already got some Bennett baseplates since only my hangers were bent up. I'm tempted, but I don't think I need another set of baseplates I wont be using. Already sitting on three.
That is, unless you can tell me what's wrong with the Indy/Bennett combo, and why Core is so much better.
So, I'd be alright with using my Bennett Plates really? No critical failures reported? That's really mostly what I'm worried about, because it doesn't seem like many people do it.

if it fits do it. if it doesnt either give up and buy some new or figure out a way to make it fit.

Man, you sound like my engineer friend. Hah. Alright, I'll let you know how it all turns out. I'm just a cheap bastard and I'm somewhat lazy. I really just wanted to know that it's going to work, without me dying, and without too much effort.

I can give this a try, but I don't understand why people would go through the trouble. Bennetts sell for ~$28/ea, and I don't know where you can get just the baseplates.

I've got just the baseplates laying around because my board was run over and bent the hangers to pieces! I figured that was the main deterrent was the price, and not the incompatibility, but there's always at least one guy who has to try everyone.
I was really hoping you'd weigh in on it Mark. Thanks.
Mate, i gave it a go but it didn't really work for me... I am slightly retarded though so that may have something to do with it.
Mark, for the price it costs to buy core plates and have them sent to Australia (off ebay) it's actually more economical to buy a full set of bennetts just to use the bp's. (too bad they don't work anyway)

What about them didn't work Dr. Pepper? Did they not fit right, or was it just not an enjoyable ride? I can't imagine it'd be much different than the Bennett hangers if they fit appropriately, just a tad wider. I really enjoyed the ride of the Bennetts, but most of my friends would get wobbles at 25 and eat it.

Hey man... i'm not good with my skate terms but i had trouble actually getting the pivot into the cup while keeping the kp centered. you'll see what i mean...you have to tilt the hanger to get it to fit in.
that probably doesn't make sense... but i don't know how to explain...
give it a go. you'll see what i mean... you won't need to do much just try putting the 2 parts together

If you got a spherical to lock into the hanger PROPERLY (centered, seated bisecting pivot line), you could go with only a single hard barrel on "top". Then you would have a truck that no matter how loose or tight that single bushing was - the geometry would stay locked in. That is as long as that spherical was in contact with the base plate.
Everyone seems to think that the picture Mark posted makes it look like they work together. It seems to me that when the pivot is properly aligned (as it is in his photo) there isn't enough room for a top bushing.
