"Street" Bushings?

I am about to buy some Bear 1040's, although I have only heard bad things about the orange pumpkin bushings. I live in South Africa, and we don't get any longboard/downhill equipment here really. Will I be able to use bushings from a normal skate shop intended for use with a "normal/street" skateboard?

I have settled for a second hand pair with blue Khiro double barrels. How will these work for carving/freeride up to 35mph? Sorry to ask such a specific question, I didn't manage to win by searching.
