There are supposedly bikes out there using magnets as suspension.

Ya this is still just in the making, i just did these drawing about an hour ago, for ridewrs with different weights the magnets will be interchangeable i just need to figure out what size and shape magnets to use and the exact specifications for the dimensions. Thanks for the input.

Ok im just gonna tak some siesmic trucks and put magnets in em to replace the springs, i hope it works out well when i get around to it.

Just because something is unique doesn't mean its useful.
    But quite the idea though.

it wont unless you use some serious magnets. there's not enough resistance so the truck would just flop over. that is unless you can find 2 magnets that repel each other enough to over come your weight + the amount of force you are putting on the truck. you cannot substitute the springs for magnets.

also your sketches look like revenges with magnets on the bottom, but again the opposing forces are not strong enough.

if you can keep a bushing and/or spring in the mix the opposing forces could provide extra rebound to aid in pumping (i doubt it but it looks like it could from your sketches)

try it out n good luck

yeah actually N52 neodymium magnets are incrediply power ful when brought close to each other, a one inch wide magnet will produceover 100lbs of resistance at under 1/2 an inch distance so im pretty sure they would be strong enough, this is all concept though since i don't really have the budget to go around destroying $60 trucks.

Oh wait my bad N52's aren't quite strong enough but if i get slightly higher grade then it will work fine. well acvcording to what i've found N52's only apply 12 lbs of resistance at the intitial turn height but at 2/3 of the way through the rotation its almost 40 lbs of reisitance, probably not quite enough but close considering you have to account for the distribution of your weight through the board, the resistance of both trucks combined, and the fact that it's tortional pressure instead of direct weight. I'm not sure what'll happen actually.

Even tho that stuff worked, a few good bangs should take care of the magnets.

Magnets in bearings/ truck drive systems may coast easier but only to the degree that ceramics rival steel. Setting up some kind of non-electric magnets could create a kind of kinetic turbine effect in the reverse direction, but with noise and resistance. With some tuning, the energy-in equaling out assumption dictates that a board that is harder to push has generated momentum within the magnets, as if you had wheels that weigh 50 pounds each its based on the fact that the resistance of magnets is like rolling over a tiny hill--1mm high. We've all gone over cracks, but the potential is to align these phases in the wheels, trucks and bearings to boost it to the amount that uses your weight to power its motor-effect at speeds where you are coasting at. Which means you can go up hill and at your fastest kicking speed easier. To make it sound less appealing, all this technology only to essentially double your momentum might just add a person (but then two on mag board would go 4 times further, so hmm. I might be wrong but I humbly say that the person who invented turbo trucks has the whole thing backwards and I suggest maybe magnetic bushings are even weirder, because they involve so much metal already.

I should have gone to the end of this thread before I regurgitated it Long distance push is the key and probably should get more research on my own in an electric powered design, #### fooling around with these magnets.

how would magnets that are (supposedly) strong enough to rebound someone out of a carve, interact with steel bearings, and the general metals on a board? me thinks it are fail.

No reason, just Don't see how they are an improvement over rubber if the trucks' pivoting would have to be locked down as in Fyre Trucks dual spherical bearing set-up with extra beefiness. God forbid you should go into a slide and have your hanger flip over because of the attraction past 90 degrees, putting you in a serious jam!
Considering Shock absorber Gullwings because they've been invented already and are tight.
