Making Otang Bushings

why don't people just pour bushings with wheel thane? is it so complex to pull that off?

i dont really understand the logisticals and such, but reflex bushings are reflex thane. its just that bushings cut from wheels are diffrent i really dont kow why, i think spesh explaind it to me once on flashchat but i could be wrong.

I had a useless wheel with a core i blew up because of a seized bearing.
I got bored of looking at it and not being able to ride it so my buddy Jeff made bushings and in the process came up with a good tutorial on how to make your own stuff.

If you are talking about doing it at home, yes it is hard to make quality bushings. A while ago, I checked out about 10 books from university on thermoplastic elastomers, in particular polyurethane to try and see if I could make my own bushings from molds I made from shaped wood dowels. The problem with polyurethane is that the big polymer boom in research ended in the 70s, so the lastest information I have on new materials is way outdated in terms of chemicals I can purchase or additives to make crosslinking more elastomeric. Second, since polyurethane's main use is foam, there is usually about 1-2 chapters of information in a whole book on non-foam related uses. Third, knowing them chemicals is just the first step, you would need material science books or publications to show data that the chemicals you are purchasing are worthy of making a bushing you want to ride. Fourth, try finding a place in your home town to buy isocyanates, polyols, and other caustic additive crosslinkers in your hometown.

this is an ongoing project, but I will say, cutting them out of wheels is much easier, just less creative.

Yeah it's pretty easy....

I mean....yeah any of us can do it. Nothing extremely toxic and potentially dangerous involved with that. Plus, reflex bushings are poured from reflex wheel thane. Not as good as reflex karrots imo.

Part of it is the shape. You can shape them however you want. I have some Strikers I don't use or like and might turn them into some big, fat, barrels

oh, they're all being proto'd, (except the fathom, that's just a dervish with the nose and tail cut off) the speedboard is even in the "we got dem purps" video, or so i've heard. But where are they? The only thing close to coming out in the tan tien.
