Question What to Replace Stock Red Randal 180 Bushings With?

Yes, i used the search button......

So i've never swapped out bushings before, and this helped a bit Bushings. Different types and how to set them up. but i'm still not sure what to get. I'm 150-160 lbs, and i'm now using stock randal red bushings on my randal 180s. I want a more surfy feel, but with a stable center for some dh. Any suggestions?

I just recently swapped my randals with venom DH bushings. Im 165 and have 90a bottom(boardside) 87a top(roadside). It is nice and carvy yet feels quite stable when centered.

You may need a longer KP to accept Venoms or similar, standard Randal KP is 2.5", and you may need 2.75".

Some Randal silver round headed KPs are 2.75" afaik.

The problem is that the Randal bushing are two different heights as standard.

You can replace with Venom Barrels or Conicals, or look at the Khiro range too.

Venom barrels all the way. They are the best.

    Not that silly.

If you are replacing bushings you can do them one at a time. There is no real need to replace in pairs or even with the same hardness. What most people do find though is that the bushing nearest the baseplate (ie the load bearing bushing) can be harder than the the non loaded one. Makes sense to me, but do experiment.

I had the same problem, here's my thread, maybe it'll help
    Randal RII 180 setup help

I ended up getting 78a venom standards, very nice, smooth feel with a lot of rebound, and relatively stable (though not that stable).

Loosen up the back trucks more and you get even more carving. (imagine a car going fast in reverse) Its unorthodox but it works. Obviously it isn't stable like this though

So i'm going with venom standards, should i go with double barrel or barrel and conical, and 85a (yellow), or 90a (red), i'm 150-160lbs and want a carvy feel, but still stable enough for dh. What if i put 95randal conicals on 85 venom barrels?

I woyuld say just get the 90a venoms, They are my favorite bushing. They are stable enough for some DH, but have a great surfy feeling to them. Cant go wrong with venoms.

I'm your weight, and 90 is more than likely too hard for a "carvy" feel (Tried it). Go with the 85 or 87. I have 85's now, and theyre a little soft, but carve excellent. Venom uses great thane, and even the 85's have enough rebound push me back to center pretty good. One of each, or 85/stock would probably work really good. I use that on my Avenger.
