ok so im getting a new longboard (46 by 10 inch) and im deciding on some trucks . im thinking about randal RII's 180 mm 50* baseplate in front and 35* in back. what do u guys think about that?i want to be able to have nice turns but very stable and speed wobble free (i was injured badly from a speed wobble so im being extra careful) if u guys dont think this will work well can u give me some trucks that will preferrably around 40-50 dollars? thanks
Randals are good trucks, carvey but yet still pretty stable. Personnaly i prefer paris because they have a set in kingpin, lifetime warrenty, look cleaner, and come with better stock bushings. (same formula as venom) You can flip both randals and paris for more stability. What trucks did u have when you got wobbles and fell?

i have no idea, i was on a friends shitty board and i bombed a hill way to big for that board and broke my ankle bad, it scared the #### outa me
trucks are trucks, they all work the same. stability comes from the rider (you) and confidence.
your setup is fine, just work your way up the hill, dont bite off more than you can chew. learn to slide, controling your speed is the best way to advance onto higher speeds

idk u should tighten ur trucks if you get speed wobble. it helps alot.
thats true to an extent, but over tightening trucks will inhibit learning and progression.
overcoming speed wobbles in a process of building confidence and those little stabilizer muscles in your legs.
get any truck you want (randal, paris, bear, etc) and get some decent bushings (venom, sbre, relex). start slowly! start 1/4 up the hill, get used to that, then maybe 1/2 up the hill, and so forth.

so what do u guys think about the 50 and 35 degree setup?
it works, i ran that on my avenger for a while. it will not completely wipe out the possibility though.

Randal II 180mm with 50degrees base plate, are a good set up to start with. They are turny and stable enough. Then if you want to get more stability, you can get a 42Degrees base plate on your rear truck.
Speed wobble is not due to your truck, but to your position on your board. The more weight you,ve got on your front truck, the less wobble you will get. Guys like Louis Pilloni use Randal II to race world cup with excellant result. Back in the early 2000's French pro rider Manu Antuna've been well over 100Km/h with Randal II 180mm without getting any speed wobble.
Gears vs rider skills= Rider skills always win (even if good gears can also help improving your result)
