Indys or Hybrids?
I am about to get a home-made freeride board that is basically an fsm without the rocker. I am debating whether to pay the extra 30 bucks and get the Hybrids or just get the Indys. I would like to know the pro's and con's of both trucks. Which ever trucks I get, I will upgrade the bushings to sabres and the board will have yellow stimulus o-tangs.

Re: Indys or Hybrids?
Once you've gone through and upgraded the indy's, you're prolly gonna be around the same price. There's a reason people actually buy the hybrids instead of doing it themselves. In order to upgrade the bushings ($10-$15), you have to upgrade the kingpin ($3), and I've heard that upgrading the pivot cup is really worth is, and thats another couple bucks. So right there you're at 20, plus shipping if there isn't a decent skate shop nearby with everything you want. So call it like 25, so you're really only paying 5 or 10 buck tops for what amounts to a much more versatile baseplate. And indy-style truck is next on my list, and I'm definitely gonna spring for the hybrids. Plus, Mark is a badass...help him out

Plus 30 or so for a shipping redirect to anyone living in Canada, because that's international.

Re: Indys or Hybrids?
If you've already got an assortment of bushings laying around and don't mind doing stuff on your own I'd say indy's with longer kps are the way to go. Knock out the stock kp with a hammer and use 2.25" kp for elim+tallcone/barrel, or 2.5" for double barrel or barrel+tallcone.
I think the core plates have other differences like turning geometry but I don't know the details to talk about it.

Re: Indys or Hybrids?
When i needed old-school plates for my indy's, I bought these:
Blank LONGBOARD Skateboard TRUCKS Completely Polished - eBay (item 200406039789 end time Nov-24-09 12:15:28 PST)
$22 shipped, the kingpins are easy to replace with grade8's of whatever length. Plus, throw the hangers on the indy plates and you got yourself a set of crappy ghettoindy 169's to bend the hell out of on a slide deck or something
