Question Am I crazy to do this?

I have a Sector 9 Haleiwa (the new maccas and old ala mona) with sidewinder trucks. I rode my friend's new original malakai with the original S6 trucks and I fell in love. Would these S6 trucks trucks be compatible with my deck (wheelbite etc.etc). I will most likely get some 86a Durians with it but currently have 69mm 80a sector 9 nineball wheels on it. Would this be sick or am I crazy to be thinking about doing this.

Go to original's site and on the trucks page I think there is a video telling you how to figure out how wide your trucks oughta be.

They should actually work pretty well, as long as you use some kind of riser (the stock Original risers would probably do it)

Honestly, I prefer the sidewinders though. Have you upgraded your bushings? Makes a world of difference. Also, if you're running the stock setup, get rid of your risers and replace them with thin shock pads. That setup doesn't require ANY riser, much less 9/16" of it.

Question Re: Am I crazy to do this?

I already have risers on my board now, and why the s10's? Aren't they for high speeds and aren't they huge? My deck is only 31.75" long if that matters.

Question Re: Am I crazy to do this?

Hmm, interesting.. what type of bushings do you use for your sidewinders? And I'm assuming you had to buy double the bushings because it is double the trucks? I do have risers and stock bushings. What would the shock pads do, I have never researched anything about them, and would they be in the same place as the risers went?

For bushings, I'd look into Bones Hardcore. They fit very nicely with the trucks and have great rebound. Yes, you'd need to buy 4 sets. Personally, I run a combo of hard and medium, 2 sets of each.

As for the risers, get rid of the ones the board came with, and get a set of shock pads (soft risers, usually 1/8"). They go in the same place as the original risers, but they'll lower your deck quite a bit and you still won't get wheelbite.

Hope that helps, I can post pics of my own setup if it helps (I have the same board, different graphic)

just go with everyone else and upgrade your bushings. it will be way cheeper.
it made a huge difference with my gullwing chargers. you dont need to change your trucks at all.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd love to see pictures of it! What wheels are you running on it?
