sabre vs 42 randals?
Has anyone ever ridden the sabre trucks? How does it compare to 42 randals? It looks like it'd be higher than randals.. Also is the hanger flippable?
Right now I'm rocking 42's on my avenger and I really want to switch to these trucks, but i feel like I might just be buying more of the same.

It's too early for someone to tell you how well they compare to randals.

Re: sabre vs 42 randals?
Sabre has a more directional turn, especially in the middle point. Randal 42 have that bit where it just kind of leans in the middle before it starts turning, sabre turn more straight away.
They are higher than a Randal 42, closer to a 50.
The hangar is flippable but.... FLIPPED HANGARS ARE POOPYSHIT
I dunno what you;ve done to your Randals in the ways of customising them with kingpins, washer blah blah etc etc, but these ride proper badass STOCK. no bushing changes, no washer changes, no kingpin changes, no messing with different baseplates blah blah blah blah blah blah.
Give the bushings an hour or so of riding to break in, they are extremely turny and floaty until then and it may freak you out is the only thing. After that they bed in and get more solid.
To be honest, I wasn't fussed about them but managed to get a cheap set and now I am very stoked on these trucks. GOOD TRUCKS.
Pretty similar to yer randal though, but then so is a bear 840, a 42 prandal, and a crail.

Re: sabre vs 42 randals?
Sabres are good trucks. The hanger is flippable, but flipping it doesn't change anything. They are made in China, though, and some people don't support that (like myself). Other than that gavmck is probably right, I think Sabre bushings are awesome (I don't think these are made in China)

It does, it changes the hangars rake just like a randal.

Are you saying Sabre trucks have been out for 3 years Michael?

Re: sabre vs 42 randals?
I think they're probably going to feel more like a crail with a less restrictive seat and better stock bushings. But I haven't got the chance to ride them yet so it's all speculation. BUT if my guess is correct then the randals will lean DRAMATICALLY more but feel less stable. I feel 45 is the best all around degree ever.

Re: sabre vs 42 randals?
they turn WAY more than randal 42's. honestly they feel more responsive than paris trucks...
just got them last night though, about to head out to a good hill. will report later.
oh, one thing that I was slightly bummed over is the fact that they don't drop though, at least not with standard dropthrough holes. way too thick around the kingpin.

Mine dropped through just fine. I had more troubles with dropping randals on my pagan than these trucks.

Re: sabre vs 42 randals?
So these are designed to be the better Randal? At least they set their standards high. This thread has inspired me to buy an extra set of Randal 180s before they go under from the pressure. I'll check back in 15 years.

Are you kinda slow cuz like half the posts in here are speculation and most people haven't had the trucks for a long enough time to really assess them. It takes at minimal a few weeks and a couple fast sessions to gauge how DH oriented trucks (which they are) really react in all sorts of situations. This has already been established with randals. Lots of people have randals and have done all sorts of things with them. Few have these trucks so its not clear cut and any consensus formed remains quite subjective if you think about it.

I'm not really fan of chinese made skate stuff, but I'd like to try these, but not buy them unless I really dug em.
I have a bunch of skateboards
Isn't this what you're supposed to put in a signature?
