Bending trucks!
So I've bent 3 sets of freeride trucks, 1 set of grizzly 10mm 1 set of 8mm grizzly (and broke the baseplate) and a set of 180mm paris trucks. (after a month). I only weight 180 and i freeride on these, lots of poweslides.
I've started the quest for non bending trucks for freeride. any suggestions this is a bit ridiculous!

Re: Bending trucks!
Perhaps it is time for you to consider Zealous or Plasma trucks. Both builders tougt them as unbendable and if you do manage to do something to them, they will replace it.

Re: Bending trucks!
Are you using steel spacers with tight axle nuts? They effectively add a couple millimeters to the axle thickness.
There are also various methods to straighten axles.. though they will bend again (especially if you were already using spacers).
Otherwise, I would pay you for shipping plus something for your trouble if you consider those hangers to be garbage..

Re: Bending trucks!
how bent are we talking here?
understandably broken baseplates will eff with your skating, but if your just freeriding, bent axels arent going to give you cancer or anything. most cast trucks come bent from the factory anyways.

Basketball = 1 ball
Volleyball = 1 ball
DH = 2 balls

Re: Bending trucks!
Randals are really tough in my book; touigher than Paris and the old Bears. I don't know about the new bears,the cast and strength is supposed to better, and the newer paris' are supposed to be a bit stronger as well.
but i hear CRAILS are the strongest of all cast trucks by far.
which is why i'm trying to get a set.

Re: Bending trucks!
Paris have a lifetime warranty. Get two sets so that when you bend one set, you have something to ride while they're being shipped and dealt with.

I had crails and didn't bend them, bit only DHed on them, no free riding.
If i rode randals i'm pretty sure i'd bend them, are paris trucks suposed to be stronger randals?
zealous would be nice, but they're expensive and too wide I want 180mm ish.

Does this take a while? I sent them a message through their site about a week and a half ago and have yet to hear back. Maybe I'm not contacting their updated address?

No, Randals are supposed to be stronger than Paris.........at least to me and I think the overall silverfish population (apparently)...
throw some soft bushings in the crails and you got yourselkf a rad freeride truck!

Re: Bending trucks!
indy's are solid too... I mean people have dropped 20 sets on them, you're just sliding. I think you'll be fine.

Crails have the strongest 8mm axles out of all cast trucks in production. I'd love to see a messed up bear 10xx. Please post pictures of that. I've never seen it. As for Paris. I have bent 2 of those.

Re: Bending trucks!
So are you using bearing spacers? The ONLY way to put the axle in tension to maximize its strength is to use spacers. Otherwise you're just going against the engineering.

In my 16 years of skating, I've never bent an axle.
