Why doesn't Paris Rising chime in here and just explain the intended operation and design of his truck? It would put an end to the bickering. Personally I have ridden them flipped and they work fine. I ride them unflipped now because I like the way they ride that way.

I got what are you saying. It would be better if I used de complementary angle for 3 and 4 so the lower the angle more lean and less turn.

    Like this:

The lower the angle of the rotation axis, more lean and less turn.
The higher the angle of the rotation axis, less lean and more turn.

Ok, sorry if I came out like a douche, but this thread is a little... overdisscussed (I know, I spelt it wrong).

All he asked if it changed the angle. Suddenly, people start telling their opinion on flipping the truck, why you shouldn't do it, ect, ect. He just needed a yes or no question answered...

If the bushing seat is not offset, why would the bushings need to be shimmed when flipped? If its only an axle offset from the pivot axis, it should only change the placement of the axles...

I would like to know. So if I am wrong, please show me.
Haha, I've been sitting here staring at two hangers for an hour straight, it's ridiculous.

Both bushing seats are offset, the Paris slightly more than the Randal
Both have an slightly angled pivot pin, the Randal a little more than the Paris.
On both this helps keeping the bushing plane parallel to the baseplate, while keeping the pivot angle into the pivot cup when flipped. Both actually needs less shimming than I previously though, now looking more closely at how the pivot pin enters the cup, rather than looking at keeping the hanger parallel to the baseplate.

Oh well, enough geeking, I'm going skating. Unflipped.

Soooo what your saying is, flipping Paris hangers changes the Rake of the truck, lowers the ride height and changes how the bushings react due to the seat locations. Also just using a standard bottom cupped washer or flat washer should be sufficient in keeping the truck functioning properly when flipped?

From what I've found, this is true.

Locked in a nice bushing setup tonight, unflipped - only weird thing is I have a 93A stock paris (venom formula) cone front boardside, and a 84A, tall karrot barrel in the front roadside >_>

Sharp toeside turns down the garage felt amazing though. Loving this setup. Eagerly awaiting my wednesday delivery of Venoms!

Yeah, that's pretty much it. An a thin flat washer would be optimal.
On Randlas, the stock bottom cone is taller than a Venom barrel, so it's basically the bushing difference you have to compensate for, both flipped and unflipped, if you want to be very picky at it.

You didn't put a washer under the bushing or use a taller bushing. Your hanger is going to get all chewed up and your pivot is going to wear unevenly like I stated.
    so thats how it happened

I bought my paris trucks used, and the inside of the bushing seat (kp hole) is a little chewed up

the previous owner must have used them fliped w/o a shim

could this damage my pivot cups? cause the one in front is way tight on the truck, and the one in back is just snug, the one in front squeaks like crazy

Nah,you're fine, just put some soap shavings in the pivot cup and they'll be silent.

Most cast trucks develop slop in the pivot cup eventually, and needs to be replaced... Yours sounds fine.
