Newb question

So i don't understand why i see some trucks mounted backwards any body explain?

Are some long board trucks designed to be mounted reverse?

And what are the benefits?

Please no bashing or flaming i am new and I just need help

Theyre not backwards, different geometry.

Look at a randal truck, then an Independent truck. Im sure you will see a difference.

You might want to clarify what you mean by backwards.

I inadvertently posted a pic of a new setup with one truck on backwards. This is a bad thing,

, and an accident. If the kingpin is pointing out (towards the end of the board) it's mounted correctly.

Unless you're referring to the difference in a reverse kingpin like the Randall or a conventional like the Tracker. The axle is on different sides of the kingpin.

There are numerous different trucks designs.
In the world of bushing trucks the most prominent are conventional style (Indy,Tracker etc.)
and reverse kingpin style (Randal,Paris, Bear, Crail etc.)

The pivot cup will always face the outside of the deck.
