doh doh bushings

Hi guys, I have been looking at some blue (88a) doh doh bushings. Does anyone have an opinion on them? I am about a hundred pounds, and I want a nice and turny bushing. Would they be good for cruising and carving? Any input would be appreciated.

They are kind of small, they are for shortboard trucks

To get the best response from them, you'd need two barrels for each truck - the short cones don't do much (so 4 sets total).

They're not terrible, but in any situation, Venom, Reflex, Sabre, or Divine bushings will be much better.

If all you have access to is your local skate shop, Bones Hardcore bushings would be a better alternative, or Khiros if they have them.

For carving, you'd probably want to go for a lower duro. The lower the duro, the flexier they are. You probably want dual cones. Venom & Khiro get all the respect around these parts, but I'm running Soft Bones Hardcore bushings and they rock on my S9/Gullwing Mission 1's. Mission 1's don't get much respect but if loosened up with conical soft bushings, they can be really carvy which is ok with me.
BTW, what trucks/board/wheels are you running?

i dont like doh-dohs.. even in conventional trucks. kinda dead.

even in popsicle trucks, where i wouldn't care less how my trucks felt, they feel horrible.

Get some Sabre/Reflex/Venoms.. You won't regret it, at least compared to doh-dohs.

but for real though? venoms are cheap and are excellent, proven bushings. cant go wrong... ever.

Do not get Doh Dohs, theyre cheap because they are made to be put into tiny short board trucks to be cranked down and never move.
Venom, Sabre, and Reflex: go with one of them

You might check to see what style bushings they take. I thought they took sort of doughnut-y shapes? I don't know, I don't have any bears.
Anyway, the Soft Bones Hardcore I'm running are 80A. Although, you can try different combos. I think the Duros go down to 75a or 78a all the way up to the 95a's for various brands.
Also, don't go barrel style if you're looking for carving. There's a reason conicals are called Super Carves. The barrels are good for stability at higher speeds. However, mixing & matching will allow you to change the behavior on the trucks to support different activities. Watch that video from Motion Board Shop on their bushing clinic from YouTube. It's a keeper! Very informative!

in all seriousness i would get white khiro barrel cone combo if i didn't want crazy rebound and venom, reflex, divine, or sabres for a reboundy feel. to give you an idea as to what dure to get i am 100 lb and for carving like white khiro double barrels. i would get a more reboundy bushing but now i do more dh freeride oriented stuff so the bushings i buy are a little stiff for cruising.

so i've decided to get some venoms, as they seem like the right path to take, but should I get double cones, double barrel, or barrel- cone? Also should I get blue-blue, blue-yellow, blue-orange, etc? any ideas on what I should do, again I'm a hundred pounds, just in case you forgot.

I'd go 85A boardside (yellow), 81A (red-orange) roadside - all barrels. Might be a bit hard for your weight, but you'll definitely grow into them. Plus, they break in a little.

I'd say that since they're so cheap, try a few different set ups. I originally bought 2 sets. One harder, one softer to see what I liked the best. I liked the softer. And again, I'm running dual 80a soft cones and I'm 155. But then, I like things super loose. Everyone has a different way they like to dial in their boards.
You might see if Venom has a bushings kit with different duros and shapes. It might be the best way to experiment...
