Default Short cone vs. Tall cone bushings

Another bushing question, so sorry, but what is the the difference between short and tall cone bushings? Do they ride differently, or is it just to accommodate for different sized kingpins? I'm looking for a barrel-cone combo, but i don't know whether to get a short or a tall cone for my Randalls. What should I do?

randals come stock with a short cone top but you should order some 2.75" kingpins with those bushings to really complete the trucks. tall cone > short cone.

short cones are really only for indys.

So i should get a barrel and a tall cone for them, but i should also get a 2.75" kingpin?
And which bushing should have the higher durometer if i use two duros, the roadside or the boardside?

    boardside should be higher duro.

2.75 will fit a barrel and tall cone.

Will a 2.75" kingpin allow for double barrels?

Yes it will, a 2.75" kingpin is perfect for double barrels. I like to use a tall kingpin nut with mine.

ya i have but the only reason i did was because my paris's came with the old old stock bushings and for some reason the cones never broke in but the barrels did so i put cones road side and barrels board side... but if i were you i would go for tall cones. And just a random question: how long have u been snowboarding?

I'm gonna say about 8 years or so, and I am currently trying to get sponsored, so if you know any companies that are looking for a local kid to rep their stuff, I'm the guy.

I'm working on my 3's, but in cali there isn't much snow to practice on, so its going slowly. As for rails my boardslides are pretty smooth, and I'm perfecting my nose and tail slides. I can do methods, mutes, indys, stalefish, whatever, as long as I go off of a decent size jump. Its nose grabs, tree taps, and hand plants that I have been working on this season, but it has been hard to do them consistantly. What about you, what can you lay down in the terrain park?

3s 5s starting 7s... im going to CO for spring break so i might learn 7s depending on if there is pow or not lol. But as for rails i kind of just started this year by making a pvc rail... setting that up and then found some giant pvc drainage pipes and set those up "urban style" ... any way ive got boardslides (backboard), frontboards, front lipslide, back lipslide, 180 on, i want to learn 270s and my presses are a little weak.

My presses are killing me too, I'll get on the rail, start my press, then the board will slip off the rail or something else will go wrong. I think I need someone to watch me do them and tell me what I am doing wrong. Are you regular or goofy? jw

I've done this and it was fine. it was actually better than barrel boardside. I don't get why if you try something different like flip your wheel over to get a bigger inner lip people are like "ZOMG DOES THAT WORK??!"

but to be nice and answere your question
the tall cone will carve harder than the shorter cone because it the hanger will have a larger turning radius

No i personally haven't, but since I live in Cali, I've seen some people riding it and it seems pretty good. I looked it up and if you go to the-house.com and find it, theres a video on it done by dave, and he seems to really like it. It has that "mustache" type shape so that should be pretty interesting, because it has (according to dave) "the best of both worlds of both rocker and camber." So see if you can demo it or something just to make sure you like it but it seems like a great board for all around.
